Douglas Glod, DPM, FACFAS, has been in private practice for over 30 years, specializing in all aspects of foot and ankle care. Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery, he serves patients at Rhode Island Foot Care’s offices in Pawtucket and East Providence, Rhode Island.
Dr. Glod has lectured both nationally and internationally on various foot and ankle pathologies, authored several papers, and was also a co-investigator with a cooperative interdisciplinary podiatric geriatrics program at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island. In addition, he is the Residency Director of the Podiatric Medical and Surgical Resident Program with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle at Kent Hospital.
Over the past 30 years, Dr. Glod has further specialized in complex reconstructive foot and ankle surgery in addition to working with limb salvage in diabetic and high-risk patient populations. Using technologies like ringed external fixation, total ankle implants, and the latest in technology with internal fixation and ortho-biologics, he has been able to pioneer techniques in limb salvage that few in Rhode Island or in the New England area have ventured.
Dr. Glod previously served as the Chief of Podiatry, Director of Podiatric Residency, and Chair of Credentials Committee at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island, as well as a clinical assistant professor at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Mishra spent most of his childhood in the Boston area. He graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami and completed his residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn. He has done volunteer work in Bangalore, India, treating diabetic foot patients and educating them on the dangers of diabetes and foot ulcers. He also was involved in wound image research and analysis at the University of Michigan Medical School with Dr. James Wrobel. He is a co-author on several highly cited publications on wound image analysis and its applications toward the development of wound healing prediction models.
Dr. Mishra’s current clinical interests include diabetic foot care and limb preservation. He also does biomechanical evaluations and fitting for custom orthotics.

Brad Ciano, DPM, FACFAS, is the newest member of the Blackstone Valley Foot and Ankle family, joining in 2018. Dr. Ciano is a native Rhode Islander, growing up in North Providence.
He attended Merrimack College, graduating in 2003, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine with a focus in Athletic Training. Specializing in the evaluation and rehabilitation of sports related foot and ankle conditions, he has extensive experience utilizing custom orthotics. Dr. Ciano obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2011 from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his 3-year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency at Roger Williams Medical Center, a program which emphasizes forefoot and rear foot reconstructive surgery, as well as diabetic wound care and limb salvage. There, he served as Chief Resident in his final year of training and completed over 1,500 surgical procedures.
