Dr. Matthews graduated from ISU in 2005 with a BS in Zoology. While in Pocatello he met and married his beautiful wife and through her father, Dr. Kert Howard, was introduced to the wonderful profession of podiatry.
After they were married they moved to Chicago to attend the Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine. He then completed his surgical residency at the Mt Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Matthews and his wife have four wonderful children.
I have found that getting better is a team effort. Healing cannot be one sided—so whenever a patient comes in, I try to listen to their complaints and explain their problems and help them understand how to get better.
We have many ways to improve your foot health, ranging from many conservative options to surgical. My conservative treatment consists of regenerative injections, dynamic orthotics, electric shockwave, and standard palliative care. When those fail, I can provide surgical procedures to get the patient back to doing what they love.
My undergraduate training was at Idaho State University. My podiatry education was in Oakland, California. My surgical residency was in the heart of Chicago, Illinois.
I am a father of four and have been married to my wife since 2005. It’s fun to come home and have them excited to see me.
I am very lucky to have the job I do. I am glad to help out in anyway...just ask.
“I went to see Dr Howard , after repeated visits to two other podiatrists and had foot pain for like 2 years.my little toe was somehow turned in, Dr Howard suggested cutting the tendon and he did it on my 1st visit and it completely remidied the problem , in fact I walked with pain for like 2 years and now I’m pain free. Now he trims my toenails and does a better job than any nail salon.I highly, highly recommend this podiatrist over All others. Even if you have to drive a long ways.”
