Born in Syria, Rafi's journey is marked by determination, academic excellence, and a deep-rooted passion for helping others. His mother, a mathematics teacher, and his father, a skilled craftsman and sign maker, instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. In 2004, Rafi's family moved to Michigan, United States, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start.
Driven by his intellectual curiosity and desire to make a difference, Rafi pursued higher education. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. Fueling his ambition further, Rafi went on to achieve a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2020. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Rafi completed a rigorous three-year podiatric surgical residency program, specializing in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle training at Ascension Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan. This additional credential further fortified his expertise in diagnosing and treating various foot and ankle pathologies.
Throughout his academic journey, Rafi's leadership qualities and commitment to his profession shone brightly. As a class president for all four years of podiatry school, he served as a voice for his peers and championed their needs and concerns. Brian Burkardt, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon with over 18 years of experience at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in Commerce Township and South Lyon, Michigan. Dr. Burkardt is a Michigan native originally from Monroe, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science from Siena Heights University in 1999. Alaa N. Mansour, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon at Gentle Foot and Ankle Care in Madison Heights, Michigan.
Dr. Mansour is a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon who was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Mansour earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at the University of Illinois and attended medical school at the Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine. He then completed his surgical residency at Beaumont Hospital where he served as chief resident. He went on to complete a fellowship in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery at the Foot and Ankle Institute in Indianapolis.
Dr. Mansour is board certified and has extensive training in the treatment of complex foot and ankle deformities as well as fractures, bunions, flat feet, and arthritis. He has a practice emphasis in ankle joint replacements and also has a special interest in innovative treatments such as 3D printed custom implants for limb salvage and deformity correction. He realizes that he is not just treating feet, but the patients they are attached to.

Dr. Milana Turner, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon who provides skilled foot and ankle care at Oakland Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Clarkston, Michigan.
