Nicholas Smith, DPM, MS, FACFAS, is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. In 2012, he joined the Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. team in Columbus, Georgia, providing high-quality care to patients in the area.
Dr. Smith is a native of Columbus, Georgia, graduating from Calvary Christian High School. He attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, majoring in biomedical sciences. Following Auburn University, Dr. Smith attended the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where he received numerous awards and scholarships.
While attending podiatry school, he is one of the few who also obtained his master's degree in healthcare management and administration.
After graduating, Dr. Smith completed his three-year residency training at one of the top hospitals in Chicago, Loyola University Medical Center. While at Loyola, he served as chief resident while receiving extensive training in all aspects of podiatric care, including bunions, ankle and heel pain, foot and ankle injuries, as well as reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Smith enjoys lecturing to the local community and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
He volunteers within the podiatry community by serving on the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons committees. Dr. Smith also writes and reviews questions for the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners multiple times per year in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.

Troy Espiritu, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon serving patients at Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Espiritu is a native from Louisiana and grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where he graduated from the University of South Alabama. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, graduating with honors.
Dr. Espiritu received several scholarships throughout his academic career, including the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award and the Distinguished Podiatric Writing Award.
After medical school, he completed three years of post-graduate training at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, focusing on all aspects of foot ankle surgery. Dr. Espiritu received training in routine podiatric surgical procedures, advanced reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage procedures, trauma, and arthroscopy.
In 2000, he opened Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Espiritu also provides care at the St. Francis Wound Management Program.
Dr. Espiritu has been very active in the local community providing regular educational seminars. In addition to being certified in foot surgery, he is a Diplomate of the American Board. Other memberships include the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
When he isn't working, Dr. Espiritu enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He's also an avid runner, having completed over 20 marathons and numerous ultra-marathons, including running endurance events up to 100 miles at a time. He also served as the Medical Director for the Soldier Marathon in Columbus, Georgia, in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
