Anaïs Carniciu, M.D. is a board-certified, ASOPRS-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon. Dr. Carniciu’s area of expertise focuses exclusively on plastic surgery of the face, with special attention to the delicate tissues surrounding the eyes. Using a natural approach, Dr. Carniciu is passionate about improving her patient’s quality of life and confidence through cosmetic and reconstructive oculoplastic surgery.
Dr. Carniciu graduated from Dartmouth College cum laude with undergraduate studies in biology and moral philosophy. A native of Westchester, she returned to New York to earn her medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Dr. Carniciu then completed her residency training in ophthalmic surgery at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, where she served as Chief Resident.
Following residency, Dr. Carniciu was one of 25 surgeons selected for a highly prestigious 2-year fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery, sponsored by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). She trained in oculoplastics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and at Consultants in Ophthalmic and Facial Plastic Surgery in Southfield, Michigan, one of the nation’s top oculofacial plastic surgery practices. After completing her fellowship in Michigan, Dr. Carniciu is pleased to return home to Westchester and serve her community. She is honored to be one of the 750 esteemed surgeons worldwide to be certified by ASOPRS, the gold-standard credentialing organization for oculoplastic surgeons.
Dr. Carniciu offers a variety of advanced treatments, including upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), droopy eyelid (ptosis) repair, endoscopic forehead and brow lift, midface lift, tear duct repair, and treatment of facial skin cancers. She also performs minimally-invasive rejuvenation procedures such as Botox®, dermal fillers, and laser skin resurfacing.
Outside of the operating suite, Dr. Carniciu is a distinguished oculoplastic surgery educator and has published numerous textbook chapters and journal articles. She has presented her research at national meetings and is a peer-reviewer for multiple leading surgical journals. Dr. Carniciu is a member of the oculoplastics teaching faculty at the world-renowned New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
A leader in the physician community, Dr. Carniciu is the current Vice President of the Westchester County Medical Society. She has served as 9th District Delegate representing Westchester to the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY).
In her free time, Dr. Carniciu enjoys reading novels, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Harvard-trained, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon Dr. Richard Reish is recognized nationally as an award-winning expert in his field. Dr. Reish graduated as Valedictorian summa cum laude from Tulane University and his accomplishments earned him a prestigious $300,000 scholarship to Harvard University Medical School. There, he earned his M.D. degree and graduated with Honors. Dr. Reish completed postgraduate residency training through the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency Program and then went on to serve as the Chief Resident of Harvard Plastic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Reish is highly skilled at performing a comprehensive array of plastic surgery procedures including rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, facelift, neck lift, minimal-incision breast augmentation, breast reduction, breast lift, tummy tuck surgery, fat transfer, labiaplasty, and facial implants. He is also experienced in performing reconstructive surgeries, such as breast reconstruction. Dr. Reish is a proud participant in cutting-edge clinical research and has published a number of articles in highly esteemed, top plastic surgery research journals. Respected as a leader amongst his peers, Dr. Reish has been invited to share his findings at plastic surgery conferences around the world. Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, he is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Reish is also passionate about helping others, outside of his regular practice, he travels on medical mission trips, lending his skills and expertise to helping those in developing countries. In his spare time, he can be found running and playing tennis in the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
