Sotirios Papafragkou, MD, FACS, is a triple board-certified surgeon at Plastic Surgery Associates of Long Island in Roslyn Heights, New York. Dr. Papafragkou is board-certified in plastic surgery, hand and microvascular surgery, and general surgery. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and The Aesthetic Society (ASAPS).
Dr. Papafragkou is proud to serve the communities in Long Island and New York City. In addition to his plastic surgery training, Dr. Papafragkou completed three additional fellowships. In Belgium, he was trained under the world-renowned Dr. Blondeel, specifically for breast reconstruction and microvascular surgery. Dr. Papafragkou also completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey, now part of Rutgers University. He specializes in breast reductions with a short scar technique, blepharoplasties, endoscopic brow lifts, breast reconstruction, augmentation, and lift, body contouring, and hand surgery.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Papafragkou completed a general surgery residency at Nassau University Medical Center on Long Island. He completed his formal plastic and reconstructive training at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He also completed a hand and microvascular fellowship and cosmetic and oculoplastic fellowship. Dr. Papafragkou rounded out his training by completing a breast reconstruction fellowship in Belgium.
Dr. Papafragkou is passionate about teaching and medical research. He participated in studies at Columbia University as well as at Mount Sinai West, formerly St. Luke’s-Roosevelt in New York City. He has received the 2006-2007 award for outstanding resident research. Dr. Papafragkou has published several studies in prestigious medical journals, including the Journal of Hand Surgery.
At this orthopedic hand and microvascular fellowship, Dr. Papafragkou treated complex hand and upper extremity trauma, including nerve injuries. He also treats hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, dupuytren’s contracture, trigger fingers, and cubital tunnel. At his aesthetic and oculoplastic fellowship, he focused on cosmetic eyelid surgery, aesthetic breast surgery, facelifts, and endoscopic brow lifts. At his Breast Reconstruction fellowship, Dr. Papafragkou was exposed to post-mastectomy breast reconstruction and microvascular surgery.

Sherry H. Hsiung, MD, is a board-certified dermatologic surgeon at the Skin Institute of New York (SINY®). Dr. Hsiung also practices general and cosmetic dermatology at SINY’s® three New York City–area offices, in the city’s West Village and in the Bay Ridge and Park Slope areas of Brooklyn, New York.
At the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Dr. Hsiung earned undergraduate degrees in both biology and chemical engineering, graduating with honors. While earning her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in Philadelphia, she was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She then completed her residency in dermatology at New York University School of Medicine in New York City, serving as chief resident.
Dr. Hsiung retains active memberships in the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and she has lectured on dermatology topics at local and national conferences. She serves as a medical editor for the Journal of Drugs in Dermatology and is a consultant for the Kiehl’s Dermatology Advisory Board.
As a crucial part of the SINY® medical team, Dr. Hsiung specializes in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, a surgical technique used to treat skin cancer, focused on removing all of the cancer cells while preserving the healthy tissue in sensitive areas such as the face, hands, feet or genitals. She completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs surgery with Dr. Perry Robins at NYU, and she is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Hsiung’s surgical expertise ranges from the simplest excisions to the most extensive skin cancer surgeries and repairs.
Dr. Ezra Hazan is a board certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. He graduated with honors from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hazan went on to do an internship in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He then completed his dermatology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital. There he gained extensive knowledge and experience in procedural dermatology, including surgery of the skin as well as advanced cosmetic procedures like injectables, lasers and light based technologies.
Dr. Hazan is on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital, where he helps train dermatology residents, and at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. He has published many academic journal articles and authored multiple textbook chapters on various topics in the field of dermatology. Dr. Hazan is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and American College of Mohs Surgery. He is passionate about the management and treatment of skin cancers, as well as cosmetic treatments and general dermatologic conditions. There, he earned his M.D. degree and graduated with Honors. Dr. Reish completed postgraduate residency training through the Harvard Combined Plastic Surgery Residency Program and then went on to serve as the Chief Resident of Harvard Plastic Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.
