About Dr. Sasaki
Gordon Sasaki, MD, FACS, is a triple board-certified plastic surgeon at Sasaki Advanced Aesthetic Medical Center serving patients in Los Angeles, Pasadena, and the surrounding communities.
Dr. Sasaki received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College and his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery training and fellowships in surgical oncology and breast cancer research at the University of Oregon Medical Center (board-certified in General Surgery) and served as an anesthesiologist during military service in Vietnam.
After returning to Yale to complete his plastic surgical training and hand fellowship, Dr. Sasaki accepted a full-time faculty position at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Hospital, in Dallas. He continued his academic career as the Associate Chief of Plastic Surgery, Director of Plastic Surgery Research, and Acting Chief of Plastic Surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Hospital. Thereafter, he established his combined academic and private practice in Pasadena and is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Loma Linda University Medical School.
Dr. Sasaki is a triple board-certified member of plastic surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Aesthetic Stem Cell Society, Founding Member of the Cell Society, International Society of Hair Stimulation, California Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He is also a senior member of the Plastic Surgery Research Council, American Burn Association, New York Academy of Sciences, and Society of Head and Neck Surgeons.
As a nationally-recognized innovator, educator, and clinician, Dr. Sasaki serves on the editorial boards of several distinguished journals and is currently a member of 10 medical advisory boards. He has published over 120 manuscripts, 54 textbook chapters, 5 booklets, and authored 4 books on plastic surgery. He has also presented over 110 teaching videos on noninvasive, minimally-invasive and surgical procedures and was a visiting professor in plastic surgery 89 times in 30 countries. Dr. Sasaki has trained over 20 research fellows in his laboratories.
Over the past 38 years, Dr. Sasaki and his staff have provided professional education at his private office to hundreds of national and international board-certified health care and aesthetic professionals.
Dr. Sasaki is also an active member of his primary hospital, Arcadia Methodist Hospital, and has served as a Section Chief both at St. Luke Medical Center and the Huntington Memorial Hospital. He is also a member of the Professional Advisory Board of the Wellness Community Center and serves as an honorary co-chairman and physician on-site for the annual Los Angeles Cherry Blossom Festival.
Recently, Dr. Sasaki was awarded the San Gabriel’s Valley Best Plastic Surgeon (2023 Reader’s Choice Award), Los Angeles Magazine 2022 Super Doctors Award, Pasadena Weekly’s Favorite 2023 Plastic Surgeon, Southern California Super Doctor (2014, 2015, 2016, 2020, 2022), ranked top 10 for article viewed in 2020 in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal, ranked #3 in 2019 Top 10 Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists in America by CNN, and Pasadena Magazine “Top Doctor 2021, 2022.” In 2001 he was awarded the Jerome R. Klingbeil, M.D. Award: Outstanding Years of Cumulative Teaching Excellence as Course Instructor.
