Dr. Shannon Sloan received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas in 2007 and then went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in the Houston Medical Center in 2010. She has been practicing for almost 10 years during which she has earned her Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Certification in Neurodevelopment Treatment. Having begun her passion for physical therapy as a young patient after injuring her knee during soccer, she strives to help patients return to their prior level of function and sport. She enjoys watching soccer teams from different leagues around the world, cycling, running, and spending time with family and friends.
Viki is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and has been practicing since 2020. Her clinical interests include orthopedics and sports medicine. She is also interested in earning advanced proficiencies in manual therapy, chronic pain management, fall prevention, and balance strategies.
Prior to her career as a PTA, Viki owned and operated an antique business for 10 years and was a location manager for a major retailer for 13 years. She traveled all over buying and selling antiques and was afforded the opportunity to explore a great deal of the country. Once she had the desire to settle down and establish some roots, she worked her way up from a part time seasonal employee to the location manager.
Viki wanted a more meaningful career that would have a positive impact on peoples’ lives. She discovered her passion when she hurt her back and discovered the right physical therapist was the difference between requiring surgery and correcting the problem with therapeutic exercise. In fact, she was the second patient at Elation Physical Therapy in their original location on Shepherd Drive in the Heights. She worked as a Physical Therapy Technician during her first year of school and returned to her Elation family when she earned her license.
Outside of work, Viki enjoys being outdoors. She walks 4 miles a day and likes to visit state and national parks when she has time. She loves to play games with her family and friends, knows her way around the kitchen, and enjoys a good bottle of wine.

Brad Rickert, DPT, is the Clinical Coordinator and a highly trained physical therapist at Bowman Physical Therapy in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston and Friendswood, Texas. He specializes in neck, back, shoulder, hip, and knee injuries and has expertise in neurologic physical therapy.
Brad attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, graduating with a degree in kinesiology pre-professional. He then received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
He also completed training at Owens Recovery Science to become a certified Personalized Blood Flow Restriction (PBFR) provider.
Brad’s passion for the field was nurtured years ago, as he comes from a long line of physical therapists. A love of sports also drives him. The desire to work with athletes, helping them stay healthy and improve their performance, only strengthened his love of physical therapy.
“The human body is incredibly strong and adaptable. We all have the ability to learn and change after an injury, and there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone return to the sport or activity they love.”
– Brad Rickert
Brad's understanding of the patient's journey is professional and personal. Having experienced injuries, he understands the value of customized exercise and transforming therapy into a fun, successful experience.
He keeps therapy sessions upbeat and encouraging while pushing his patients to work, knowing their challenges firsthand.
Brad is a caring professional who values building relationships and making connections. He talks with each patient, teaching them about their injury and discussing exercise and lifestyle changes that support long-term health.
He puts patients on the path to recovery, using a gradual stepwise approach, promoting activities they enjoy, and motivating them by highlighting the human body’s resiliency.
Brad welcomes new patients and looks forward to continuing to work with existing patients, helping each one build strength and confidence.
Royce Bowman, PT, is the Director of Operations and an exceptional physical therapist at Bowman Physical Therapy in the River Oaks neighborhood of Houston and Friendswood, Texas. He helps patients heal and rehabilitate from a wide range of orthopedic conditions, but he has a special interest in the knees and shoulders.
Royce believes in adapting to each patient and creating customized care that meets their needs. He follows a holistic approach, searching beyond obvious symptoms to identify and treat all the factors contributing to pain, injuries, and diseases.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, Royce received a Master’s in human performance and exercise physiology from the University of Houston - Clear Lake in Texas.
While studying human performance and exercise physiology, he had a transformative experience. His time spent in a sports medicine facility drew him toward physical therapy, a career path he embraced.
Royce pursued his passion for physical therapy by earning a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University Institute of Health Sciences. He’s also certified to perform dry needling.
“I fell in love with the concept of physical therapy, first of all, because I enjoy teaching. I teach patients how to do certain exercises or perform certain functions. I teach parents about their child’s injury or why they have a recurring problem. I’m not only teaching but also guiding and helping people get back to their quality of life.”
– Royce Bowman
Central to Royce’s approach is the belief that patient education is the foundation of rehabilitation. By understanding the reasons for their exercises and physical therapy treatments, patients feel informed and empowered, contributing to their overall health and well-being.
Royce welcomes new and current patients who need to recover from pain, injuries, and orthopedic surgeries and conditions.
