Chance grew up in East Tennessee, nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains, where an active lifestyle and a sense of community were always at the forefront of his life. From a young age, he found joy in playing soccer, exploring the outdoors, and volunteering with his family and friends. These experiences fueled his passion for helping others and led him to a career where he could combine his love for movement with his desire to make a positive impact on his community.
After becoming a certified and licensed athletic trainer through his studies at King University in Bristol, Tennessee, Chance continued his education by earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Seeking to further hone his skills, he completed the Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency at Northwestern University and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, Illinois, one of the nation’s leading programs in orthopedic care.
Through one-on-one care with all patients, I focus on actively listening to patient needs and goals to deliver evidence-based solutions with an emphasis on empowering patients through self-management strategies. I am actively involved with other clinicians collecting data and publishing research on what in our assessment process best predicts best outcome and prognosis for back and neck related conditions. We have published 9 studies in peer reviewed journals with other studies currently in review and two international awards for the effect on physical therapy treatment and outcome. With over 19 years of experience in treating musculoskeletal conditions, I have the pleasure of helping those with pain or movement limitations in the spine and extremeties return back to what they love with strategies to keep themselves well and maintain improvement independently. Rachel has a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Mississippi State University and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
Rachel has been treating pediatric patients exclusively since graduation, and she loves patients of all ages and stages. Rachel utilizes a play-based therapy approach allowing “work” to be masked as play. She is dedicated to helping children explore their environment in an age-appropriate manner.
