Dr. Timothy Gray, PT, DPT earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Washington. Tim worked as a chemical engineer in the automotive and aerospace industries for ten years before finding his true calling in physical therapy. As a specialized practitioner in pelvic floor physical therapy and chronic pain treatment, my professional journey has not necessarily been ordinary. I started my career in an orthopedic setting, where I quickly realized that the system I was operating within didn’t “fit” me. Despite the love I had for my patients, I felt confined within a box that prevented me from fully expressing my passion for helping people in pain.
It was only when I stepped outside of this box that I truly began to thrive and refine my specialization. I believe that pain and physical symptoms are the language of our bodies.
Your experience in physical therapy with me will be non-traditional. I spend a lot of time getting to know the people I work with in order to better help them recognize, understand, and transform their experience with pain. Dr. Darius Porter (he/him) grew up his whole life as a Tacoma, WA native, and graduated from Foss High School. He then graduated with his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Washington State University (Go Cougs!). While waiting to get accepted into a physical therapy program, Darius worked as a Physical Therapy Aide to build his knowledge base and gain experience. He was then accepted and completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy program from Hampton University in Virginia. During his education he has won the Bruya-Wood Conference Award for Critical Thinking and making it on the Dean’s list.
Darius’ passion for helping others comes from his own personal experience of inadequate care as a youth and wants his patient’s to not only know the benefits that Physical Therapy can provide, but also how to prevent future injuries later in life.
