Dr. Bazil was born and raised in the Detroit metropolitan area. He completed his medical school training at the University of Pikeville - Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine then went on to complete his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at Corewell Health (formerly Beaumont Hospital) in Royal Oak, Michigan. Following residency, he completed additional training in an ACGME-accredited Anesthesia Pain Medicine fellowship program at the University at Buffalo. He is a current member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR) as well as the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine (ASRA).

James E. Raised in Clinton Township, Michigan, Dr. Kandt graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Shortly after graduation, he attended medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.
