Marlyn Alvarado, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Union Spine and Pain Management. Proficient in English and Spanish, Marlyn brings a wealth of experience delivering comprehensive care to diverse populations of all ages.
Marlyn embarked on her nursing journey at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, where she earned her nursing degree. During this time, she served as a surgical nurse at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, where she cared for patients undergoing chemotherapy, dialysis, and surgery.
Continuing her work at Jersey City Medical Center, Marlyn served in pivotal roles as a transition discharge nurse and maternal child health nurse. Here, she managed patients with high-risk pregnancies, substance use disorder, and teen pregnancy, demonstrating her versatility in addressing complex healthcare needs.
She also served as a case manager at United Healthcare in West New York, New Jersey, and later as a wellness coach/chronic condition manager at Premise Health. These roles further developed her understanding of holistic healthcare management and patient support.

Wayne Fleischhacker, DO, DABA, DABPM, DAAPM, is the director of Union Spine and Pain Management with offices in Union, Scotch Plains, Bloomfield, South Bound Brook, New Brunswick, Old Bridge, and Woodbridge, New Jersey. He has vast experience in anesthesiology and pain management, including minimally invasive pain management procedures and surgery.
Dr. Fleischhacker began his education at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology. He later achieved his medical degree at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury.
Shortly after, he completed a rotating internship at Massapequa General Hospital in Seaford, New York, followed by anesthesiology and pain management training at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Fleischhacker is on staff at multiple hospitals and surgery centers in New Jersey.
He also served as the attending anesthesiologist and chairman of the anesthesiology and pain management department at Union Hospital in New Jersey and the Endo-Surgical Center as the director of anesthesiology and pain management.

Byrne L. Solberg, M.D. is a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and spent his youth in Dearborn, Michigan. He attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan for undergraduate studies in Biology. Dr. Rodriguez is the President of Dynamic Injury Solutions LLC. His focus is the diagnosis and improvement of physical and physiological conditions that affect form and function of the human body. His practice offers high-quality options in diagnostics, therapies, treatments, and counseling in conditions that mostly affect the musculoskeletal system. He is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Pain Medicine, Quality Assurance and Utilization Review, and Independent Medical Examination. To date, he has treated over 14,000 patients using state-of-the-art medical science coupled with alternative and complementary techniques.
Dr. Rodriguez graduated from The University of Pennsylvania in 1981. He double-majored in Biophysics and Natural Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry. Thereafter, he graduated from The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1985, where he assisted in many operations, particularly of the hands, large articulating joints, and the cardiovascular system. Through his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), which he completed in 1989, he focused on the recognition and treatment of acute and chronic disabling conditions.
Following his residency, Dr. Rodriguez started his private practice. He also served as Assistant Chief of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Philadelphia Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and Director of Physical Medicine Services for the Skilled Nursing Facility of the Presbyterian Medical Center for five years, while also serving as Associate Clinical Professor within the Department of Internal Medicine of the HUP system for five years.
In addition, Dr. Rodriguez served as Medical Director of the Acupuncture Drug Detoxification Research Program of Philadelphia for one year, founder and elected Chairman of the North Philadelphia Health System’s first Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for three years, and taught podiatry residents from the Podiatry College of Philadelphia. During that time he held admitting and consulting privileges at six Philadelphia area hospitals.
In 1997, Dr. Rodriguez began to devote his time to private office practice. He has kept his focus on patients, science, and technology by adding MRI, Ultrasound, Lasers, and autologous stem cell treatment services. At present, he heads a medical company of 80 employees and 15 health profession licensed healthcare providers with eleven locations in Philadelphia and four surrounding counties. Bernadette Livewell is a certified Physician Assistant who joined Coastal Spine in 2012. She graduated from Ursinus College with degrees in both Biology and Spanish. She then attended Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where she earned her Physician Assistant Master’s Degree in 2011. She is a member of The American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North American Spine Society.
