Tristan Shockley, MD, is a sought after board-certified pain medicine doctor with a passion for helping men and women eradicate pain and restore their quality of life. He specializes in nonsurgical interventional pain medicine, prolotherapy, weight management, and physiatric treatments. His main office is at the CHOICE Pain & Rehabilitation Center office Dundalk, though he frequently meets with patients at their other Maryland locations in Olney, Rosedale, Hyattsville, Lanham, Pikesville, and Gaithersburg.
Equipped with the most advanced and innovative technologies, Dr. Shockley pinpoints the source of pain, makes a precise diagnosis, and treats the underlying issue with fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided procedures. With an overarching goal to help men and women restore optimal function, Dr. Shockley dedicates much of his energy to patient education, preparing those he treats for regenerative physical therapy.
After graduating magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C., Dr. Shockley entered Howard University College of Medicine, where he completed his medical degree. Khyanne McCutchen, APRN, FNP-C, is a born native of New York and moved to Baltimore, Maryland as a young child. She’s had a long-time goal to work in the medical field. She began and ended her formal education at historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s).In 2010, she graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Sojourner Douglass College with a licensed practical nursing certification. Sojourner Douglass College was the only HBCU in Maryland that offered the LPN-BSN bridge program.In 2012, she completed the bachelor program graduating Cum Laude, earning a bachelor of science in nursing degree. In 2017, she entered the accelerated nurse practitioner program at Coppin State University. After two years, she graduated with a master’s in science of nursing, specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner.
Throughout her registered nursing career, she has worked in a variety of specialties that have molded her into well-rounded health professional. Ms. McCutchen’s first year and a half of her nursing career were spent in long-term care with a focus on skilled nursing and physical rehabilitation. In 2013, she transitioned from long-term skilled nursing to sub-acute in a hospital setting. This specialty is where she acquired skills in rehabilitation, which focused on surgical post-op, physical therapy, occupational therapy, acute and chronic disease 2 years later, in 2015, Ms. McCutchen switched specialties to emergency medicine where she remained for six years. She gained extensive training to evaluate, treat and manage emergent, acute, and chronic medical conditions to a variety of patient populations. She has also served as a preceptor for new graduates and mental health coordinator for a hospital-wide committee.
Her nurse practitioner experience includes medicated assisted treatment (MAT) and independent contracting. She now specializes in pain management and MAT and serves the community with which she is familiar. She provides quality care to patients to help them live a meaningful quality of life by managing their pain with a non-invasive approach.
Dr. Fitzpatrick is orginally from West Chester, PA. After completing his undergraudate studies at Johns Hopkins, he earned his M.D. from Drexel University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Walter Reed Army medical Center, where he later serves as an attending physician prior to joining MVRMA in 2011. Dr. Fitzpatrick's clinical interest include electrodiagnosis, non-operative spine care, neuromuscular diseases, musculosketetal medicine, and spasticity. He is board certified in PM&R, electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular medicine..
Experienced, effective, knowledgeable and dedicated Physiatrist, focused on rehabilitation and nonsurgical treatment of acute and chronic pain, including arthritis; bone, nerve and muscle injuries; nervous system disorders; and sports-related injuries, among others. Work with state-of-the-art technology to diagnose the nature and extent of injuries and prescribe treatment to maximize patients’ functional outcome and restore them to the highest level of function and a pain-free life.
