Dr. Georges Traboulsi, DDS, is a periodontist with the Dulles Dental Group. His interest in oral health seems to be genetic, as he is the third generation in his family to practice dentistry and, in fact, spent time in his father’s office in his youth. From observing his father, he saw first-hand the impact of good dental care on patients. After graduating from Saint Joseph University in Orange County, California as a doctor of dental surgery, he stayed on to complete an oral surgery fellowship. He then entered the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he completed a three-year postdoctoral periodontology residency. And, finally, he obtained a master’s degree in oral biology at Boston University, during which time he conducted research on salivary proteins.

Dr. Traboulsi is an active member of the American Association of Periodontology, the American Board of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. Dr. Jeff Takai is a dental implant and gum disease specialist at Ramona Family Dentistry. Dr. Takai grew up in southern California where his father was also a dentist. As a result, he has been involved in dentistry in some capacity his entire life and he developed a strong passion for dentistry at a young age.

Dr. Takai completed his undergraduate schooling at UC Berkeley. He then attended University of the Pacific for dental school and earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school Dr. Takai was attracted to the surgical side of dentistry and decided he wanted to become more specialized. Upon graduation, he furthered his education and training in periodontics at UC San Francisco where he completed his surgical residency in 2013.

Dr. Fani is our gum specialist. She completed her undergraduate studies at UC Irvine and UCLA, followed by her dental degree from USC, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Fani continued her studies at USC to complete her postgraduate certificate in Periodontics in 1993. She continues to educate herself today in order to provide the highest level of treatment and patient satisfaction possible. Dr. Fani is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the San Fernando Valley Dental Association.

Dr. Galustian is a Periodontist specializing in gum disease. He received his DDS degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Board-certified periodontist, Dr. Jeremy Ueno, is a Bay Area native and founder and owner of Ueno Center Dental Specialists in Campbell, California. From an early age, Dr. Ueno demonstrated a passion for medicine and technology. After graduating as a biology major from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), that for technology passion was apparent as he completed his internship and, later, served as an employee in the IT department at Genentech in South San Francisco. This helped form the basis of his appreciation for the intersection of technology and medicine that continues today. 

Ultimately, Dr. Ueno decided to pursue a career in dentistry, enrolling in Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. After Tufts, Dr. Ueno completed his surgical residency in periodontics at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine in New York City, where he trained under some of the top clinicians and researchers in the world.

After his residency at Columbia, Dr. Ueno returned to the Bay Area, where he started Ueno Periodontics in Campbell. As the practice grew, Dr. Ueno decided to open the Ueno Center, where he committed to offering a wider range of dental services along with advanced technology for the ultimate patient experience.

Lynna Bui, DDS, MPH, of Ueno Center Dental Specialists in Campbell, California, is a Bay Area native. Her interest in medicine started early, graduating with a degree in biology from the University of California, Irvine, before earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery at Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois.

Dentistry came first, but it wasn’t long before Dr. Bui focused on a future in periodontology. She went back to school to obtain her specialty certificate in periodontics from the University of Pittsburgh. Then, intending to give back to her community, she earned her Master's in Public Health from the Graduate School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh.

For over a decade, Dr. Bui owned a practice in Palo Alto, California, while also serving as an associate clinical professor in the periodontics department at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, California. She co-authored articles featured in the prestigious Implant Dentistry journal and has lectured regionally and nationally on periodontology and implantology.

Dr. Debra Westervelt is originally from Hemet, a small town in Southern California. In her early years of college, she found a passion in healthcare where she felt she could best impact her community and graduated with a degree in biology from La Sierra University at the top of her class. She then earned a doctorate degree at the acclaimed University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Westervelt loves every aspect of dentistry and worked as a general dentist in the Napa area for several years. She enjoyed working closely with many specialists and collaborating in changing people’s lives. She was heavily involved in study clubs and advanced continuing education and became inspired by the specialists she had the opportunity to work with.

Fascinated with the connection between oral and systemic health and determined to further her education, Dr. Westervelt obtained her specialty certificate in periodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Westervelt is passionate about helping her community by improving each patient’s overall health through ideal periodontal health. She understands the importance of comprehensive dental care and working closely with other experts in both dentistry and medicine. Her unique point of view as both a general dentist and a periodontist allows a broad understanding of her patient’s wants and needs. Following his graduate training, Dr. Richert completed his residency in periodontics and implantology at the Texas A&M College of Dentistry. In addition to his residency certificate in periodontics, Dr. Richert earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology (MS).

Dr. Richert relocated to Seattle, Washington to gain exposure within a large, private periodontal group. He then accepted a faculty position at the UNLV College of Dental Medicine in Las Vegas, NV, serving as the primary periodontal and implant surgeon for the pre-doctoral and graduate-level programs. While Dr. Richert loved teaching, he had always dreamt of living in California, and made his way. He spent the last four years in private practice in Lafayette, CA. As much as Dr. Richert liked the Bay Area, he much preferred his weekend getaways to Santa Cruz.

Dr. Richert currently resides in Pleasure Point with his partner, Emma. In his free time, he enjoys going on adventures with their Jack Highland Terrier Max, and together, heading to the mountains for snowboarding. His passion for playing guitar, Muay Thai, and surfing gives him balance in his personal time, to then provide optimal care when professionally treating his patients.
