Stuart J. Froum, DDS, is a board-certified periodontist who specializes in periodontal surgery, dental implant dentistry, and preventive care. He currently provides expert periodontal, restorative, and cosmetic dental care to patients throughout New York City at his Stuart J. Froum, DDS, practice in Midtown Manhattan.

A highly sought-after lecturer, Dr. Froum is devoted to passing on his knowledge and experience in periodontology and implant dentistry to the other specialists and dentists around the world.

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Froum earned his dental doctorate at the New York University College of Dentistry in New York City. He then completed a general dentistry internship at Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital in Brooklyn and a periodontal residency at New York Veterans Administration Hospital in New York City.

Dr. Laura Smith is a graduate of Universidad Latina de Costa Rica where she received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 2009. In 2013, she was accepted into a 1-year fellowship at Louisiana State University where she received training restoring single and multiple dental implants with the newest techniques.  In 2014, she accepted a position in Louisiana State University’s Post-Graduate Periodontal program, which she completed in 2017.

After obtaining her D.D.S., she practiced general dentistry for 3 years in a private practice in San Jose, Costa Rica. Since completing her 4-year postgraduate education, she has been serving the community of south Louisiana as a periodontal dental specialist.  Besides receiving training in periodontal disease and conditions, she also trained extensively in all aspects of implants, including aesthetic implant surgery, bone grafting, sinus elevation, microsurgery, aesthetic gum grafting, and full mouth implant rehabilitation. Dr. Smith came to the United States in 2012 after marrying her husband; she is originally from San Jose, Costa Rica. She and her husband made New Orleans their home and have been building their family for the last ten years. They have three children together; Oliver, Emme and Julian to whom they dedicate most of their time. They enjoy traveling as a family and sharing time with loved ones. Dr. Kohut earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2004. He continued on to complete a three-year surgical residency in periodontology at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, where he was chief resident and recipient of the Fishman Award.

Dr. Crofcheck attended the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas, completing her dental school training. She then pursued her advanced training in the areas of periodontics and oral implantology receiving her specialty certificate. Dr. Crofcheck is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, International College of Oral Implantologists, Southwest Society of Periodontists, and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Herman grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana. She attended West Monroe High School, then earned a Bachelor’s in biochemistry with a minor in chemistry from Louisiana State University. While studying there, she received the Chancellor’s Future Leaders in Research Scholarship, the Centennial Scholarship, and was named to the LSU Alumni Association Top 100 Scholars list. Dr. Herman received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry in 2016. She went on to complete her residency in periodontics there in 2019, where she served as the chief resident. 

To maintain her professional credentials and stay up with the latest advances in periodontics, Dr. Herman maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Association for Dental Research, Louisiana Dental Association, and New Orleans Dental Association.

Dr. Herman has extensive leadership and volunteer experience. As Community Service Chair for the LSUHSC dental class of 2016, she organized community service opportunities for members of her class, including fundraisers, food drives, and Habitat for Humanity service. Dr. Herman has volunteered for both the New Orleans and the Louisiana Missions of Mercy and provided dental services and supplies to adults and children in the mountain communities of Guatemala through LSU Global Healing. Dr. Biner was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He attended the University of Toronto and acquired his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2012. He worked in private practice before serving in the Canadian Armed Forces for six years. He achieved a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry while serving in the military. 

Following his military service, Dr. Biner returned to complete his periodontal residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine in 2023, where he operated as the chief resident.
