He completed all of his surgical training at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, with an internship and residency in General Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and a research fellowship and Pediatric Surgery fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital.
After completing his training, Dr. Lee joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Pediatric Surgery. He also held numerous local titles, including physician service leader for Pediatric Surgery, inpatient medical director of the North Carolina Children’s Hospital surgical floor, and the director of the surgical skills program in the General Surgery residency.
Dr. Lee served on a number of national committees, as well, including the Rare Tumors committee in the Children’s Oncology Group, the Education and Program committees of the Surgical Section of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Industry Advisory committee of the American Pediatric Surgical Association. He’s also published over 30 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals on topics ranging from Pediatric Surgery to basic science in surgical nutrition.

Dr. Laila Niazi is a caring and dedicated board-certified pediatrician at Thousand Oaks Pediatrics. Dr. Niazi offers a wide range of pediatric care to her patients in Newbury Park, California, including vaccinations, well-child visits, newborn visits, obesity consultations, ADD/ADHD consultations, and most other types of child care.
Dr. Niazi strongly believes in one-on-one patient care that really focuses on knowing the patient and the family well. She listens first and then advises parents about treatment and care. Dr. Niazi earned her undergraduate degree at California State University, Northridge. She went on to earn her medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten. Dr. Niazi has worked as a pediatrician for over a decade and she’s been with Thousand Oaks Pediatrics since 2014.
