Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Dr. Valdez never wanted to be far from home. Since receiving degrees and medical training from the University of California at Davis , University of California at Irvine , and Loma Linda University, California , he has enjoyed the privilege of administering general pediatric care in a private-practice setting in the greater Sacramento area since 1991. “Caring for and treating infants and children, as well as being part of their overall development and maturation into adults, is one of the most rewarding experiences for anyone. The actual ‘medicine’ of pediatrics is ongoing and foundational to the practice. The difficult aspect–relaying information and advice to families, making oneself available for support and questions, and discussing treatment options—is where I believe I make a difference”, says Dr. Valdez. He is a member of several local and national Pediatric and Medical Societies and serves in both elected and appointed positions on the Pediatric and/or Medical Executive Committees at Sutter Roseville Medical Center , Roseville, California and Mercy San Juan Medical Center , Carmichael, California. ‘Dr. V’ is commonly seen driving around town in his distinct ‘slug bug’.
