Dr. Chowdhury completed her pediatric residency and was appointed chief resident at North Shore University Hospital | Weill Cornell Medicine in Manhattan, New York. Then she finished a three-year fellowship program in pediatric cardiology at the North Shore University | Northwell Health® in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Chowdhury is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Cardiology and Adults with Congenital Heart Disease.

Laurel Pediatric and Teen Medical Center is proud to announce that Dr. Ugonma (Ugo) Harriet Okparaocha has joined our practice. She is now available to see patients from newborn to age 20.
Dr. Ugo is a graduate of University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, Enugu, Nigeria. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn New York. She has been in medical practice for more than 20 years. She is Board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She has worked in several clinical settings, including primary Pediatric care at the Appalachian Clinic located in Hazard, Kentucky, and various primary pediatric clinics in Maryland. She affiliated with University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. She is also currently one of the hospitalists rendering inpatient Pediatric care at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland.

Mariah is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. Mariah specializes in mental health and works with individuals ranging from 4 years old to 21 years old. She provides medication management for those with ADHD, anxiety, depression, autism, mood disorders, eating disorders, anger, OCD, ODD, trauma, and PTSD.
Mariah's experience includes a range of care in the clinical setting with patients aged 0 to 21 years. While at Kennedy Krieger Institute, she worked with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders, autism, learning and developmental delays, anger management with behavioral and physical outbursts, traumatic brain injuries, etc.
Mariah is here to listen and support children and adolescents that are struggling with mental health challenges. Her goal is to collaborate with her clients, their parents, and any other professionals involved in their life to find the best plan that will help them succeed and live to their highest potential.
