Scott Johnston, MD, is a board-certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained expert in pain management practicing at Johnston Pain Management, P.A., which has locations in Jacksonville, New Bern, and Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. In 1990, Dr. Johnston completed his residency in anesthesiology at the State University Health Sciences Center in Syracuse, New York. He then served as the Director of Anesthesia Services at Cherry Point Naval Hospital and Assistant Director at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune. He entered fellowship training at Duke University Medical Center for the study of pain medicine in 1994. Dr. Johnston has practiced pain medicine exclusively as Director of Johnston Pain Management, P.A., since 1995. He also serves in leadership positions at Onslow Memorial Hospital, including Chief of Staff. He is board certified by The American Academy of Pain Medicine and the American Society of Anesthesiology. Brent Harkrider, MD, is a fellowship-trained pain physician board-certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Management. Javid Baksh, DO, is passionate about treating the most complex pain cases using a comprehensive, integrative, and holistic approach. As an interventional pain management specialist at Premier Pain Solutions – which has locations in Asheville, Columbus, Greenville, Southern Pines, Wilmington, North Carolina, as well as Easley, Greenville, South Carolina – Dr. Baksh is dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients living with chronic pain.
Dr. Baksh offers a wide range of conventional and alternative therapies, along with the most innovative, minimally invasive procedures, tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
A native of Monroe, New York, Dr. Baksh earned his undergraduate degree at Bloomfield College, graduating summa cum laude while attending on a baseball scholarship. He then pursued his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. In 2008, he completed a traditional rotating internship at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at SUNY Buffalo and a fellowship in pain management at the University of Cincinnati.
Since 2013, Dr. Baksh has been a key opinion leader for St. Jude Medical and Flowonix Medical, and he is recognized as a distinguished presenter and published author for the North American Neuromodulation Society. He has been practicing in the Asheville and Hendersonville regions since 2012.
Outside of his medical career, Dr. Baksh enjoys cycling, hiking, and giving back to the community by volunteering with organizations such as Meals on Wheels.
