He has worked with individuals suffering from Substance Use Disorder, chronic pain, and associated stigmatized care for decades. He works daily to end the stigma attached to mental health and Substance Use Disorders, from modifying stigmatizing language to changing the way providers interact with their patients. Mr. Godfrey’s approach to bridging the gap of Chronic Pain and Substance Use Disorder diagnoses involves using a patient centered/patient controlled plan to incorporate his own creation of a 14 point Pain/SUD protocol that focuses on “Functional Pain Treatment”, rather than “Pain Management”.
Mr. Godfrey received his Nurse Practitioner education from University of Phoenix, and is a member of American Society of Addiction Medicine, as well as the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Dr. Bowers completed his bachelor's degree in biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, before earning his Doctor of Medicine at Cincinnati College of Medicine and Surgery, in Cincinnati. Dr. Bowers served his anesthesiology residency and completed rigorous fellowship training in pain medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke's - West Hospital Center, in New York City.
Dr. Bowers completed his residency in anesthesiology as Chief Resident at the prestigious Mt Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York City, and subsequently completed an exclusive interventional pain management fellowship at the same institution, and has been offering high quality pain management services for the past several years since completing his training.
Dr. Bowers prides himself on technical expertise and effectiveness of each procedure he performs. Dr Bowers is double board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesia and Pain Management, and maintains both of his board certifications, his medical license by the State of Washington, as well as ongoing continuing medical education to keep up with the best and cutting edge medical advances in pain management. Dr. Bowers is passonionate about finding ways to optimitizing health and wellness.
Dr. Daniel Nelson, helps patients find relief from chronic pain at his practice in Kirkland, Washington.
Dr. Nelson grew up in the Puget Sound area and was an honors and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Washington. He went to medical school at the University of Southern California and completed his internship and residency in anesthesiology at USC-L.A. County Hospital Medical Center where he was elected chief resident. After residency, Dr. Nelson completed fellowship training in interventional pain medicine. He then started the Pain Management program at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, California.
After returning to the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Nelson joined the Evergreen Hospital medical staff and founded the Pain Medicine department there, as well as establishing one of the first full-spectrum independent pain medicine clinics in the area. He is a founding member and Director-at-Large of the Washington Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Dr. Nelson is a guest lecturer at the University of Washington pain medicine fellowship program and has been actively involved in the teaching of pain fellows, medical students, and physician assistants.
He has also served as a consultant and speaker to a variety of organizations. In his off time, Dr. Nelson enjoys hiking, biking, golfing, skiing and mountain climbing. He is active in Climb for Captives and Rescue:Freedom International, an organization working on behalf of victims of human trafficking.
