About Qasim M. Husain, MD

Dr. Qasim M. Husain is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon at the Orthocenter. About Nader A. Bakhos, MD

Dr. Bakhos was born and raised in Monmouth County, NJ.  He left New Jersey to pursue his undergraduate degree at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Dr. Bakhos then returned home earning his Medical Degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following graduation, Dr. Bakhos completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He then furthered his sub-specialty training by completing the Otto E. Dr. Bloomstein completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. During residency Dr. Bloomstein’s training included Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Orthopaedic Trauma at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. 

Following Residency, Dr. Bloomstein completed his first Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at the University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. During his Fellowship, Dr. Bloomstein was part of a relief mission to help the earthquake victims in Haiti in 2010. In a five-day period, the team of eight orthopaedic surgeons operated on over fifty patients who survived the earthquake. The surgical team was able to perform numerous surgeries to restore the patients to an independent level of functioning.

Dr. Bloomstein completed a second Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the specialty of Foot & Ankle. About Robert Borzio, MD

Robert Borzio, MD, is a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in computer-navigated, minimally invasive anterior approach total hip and knee replacements and revisions. Dr. Borzio also provides general orthopaedic care and treatment of fractures in the upper and lower extremities.

After receiving his M.D. degree, Dr. Mulholland completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. As a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Dr. Mulholland strives to go above and beyond industry standards for his patients.

Dr. Lisser earned his Medical Degree and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He then completed a Hand, Elbow and Microsurgery Fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. After that, Dr. Lisser completed a Shoulder Surgery Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.

Douglas Navasartian, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Orthocenter, which has locations in Red Bank, Morganville, Eatontown, and Holmdel, New Jersey. He has completed subspecialty fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine. 

Dr. Navasartian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in general biology and a Master of Science degree in biology from the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Navasartian then completed medical school at the State University of New York in Stony Brook. Following medical school, he completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey, one of the oldest residency programs in the state. Through his residency, he spent time training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, as well as UMDNJ Newark. This allowed him to obtain well-rounded training in numerous aspects of orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Navasartian then went on to complete subspecialty fellowship training in Sports Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. During his fellowship, he was trained by one of the pioneers and founders of modern shoulder arthroscopy, Dr. Stephen Burkhart, MD. Dr. Bloomstein completed his Orthopaedic Residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ. During residency Dr. Bloomstein’s training included Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Orthopaedic Trauma at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. 

Following Residency, Dr. Bloomstein completed his first Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery at the University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic in Memphis, TN. During his Fellowship, Dr. Bloomstein was part of a relief mission to help the earthquake victims in Haiti in 2010. In a five-day period, the team of eight orthopaedic surgeons operated on over fifty patients who survived the earthquake. The surgical team was able to perform numerous surgeries to restore the patients to an independent level of functioning.

Dr. Bloomstein completed a second Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in the specialty of Foot & Ankle. He shadowed several pioneers in Total Ankle Replacement and other joint sparing surgeries in the treatment of foot and ankle disorders. Dr. Bloomstein offers both surgical and non-surgical options for foot and ankle issues such as bunions, hammertoes, ankle sprains, arthritis, flatfoot, and Achilles tendon pain. •

Given his extensive experience in Orthopaedic trauma, Dr. Bloomstein also specializes in the management of fractures in upper and lower extremities. He offers both non-operative and operative treatments and helping patients achieve an improved level of function and restore independence following an injury.

Dr. Bloomstein is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a fellow of the American board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, The Orthopaedic Trauma Association, and the New Jersey Orthopaedic Society

Dean C. Perfetti, MD, MPH, is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Perfetti sees patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group at their Mount Kisco, Carmel, Newburgh locations in New York, and their Danbury location in Connecticut.

Dr. Perfetti obtained his undergraduate degree at Columbia College (Columbia University), graduating with the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. 

He achieved a dual Medical Degree and Master of Public Health Degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He graduated at the top of his class with the highest honors of Alpha Omega Alpha and Beta Ioda Chapter of Delta Omega. 

He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell as chief resident, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute, which pioneered Total Disc Replacement in the United States.

Dr. Perfetti’s clinical focus is on caring for back and neck injuries, whether from acute traumas such as herniations or fractures, chronic conditions like arthritis and stenosis, or spinal abnormalities.

His goal is to promote the health of the vertebral column, spinal cord, and nerve roots to decrease pain and improve function for his patients, ultimately getting them back to their active lifestyles.

Dr. Perfetti is trained in complex cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries with a special focus on motion-preserving procedures, like Total Disc Replacement and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery. 

He utilizes the latest robotics and navigation technologies and performs Orthopaedic procedures for extremity fractures.

Dr. Perfetti grew up in Scarsdale, New York, and played soccer for F.C. Westchester, winning three New York State Championships and a National Championship at Disney. He transitioned to football at Columbia, where he played four years as a kicker/punter at the Division 1 level.
