Adam Heisinger, DO, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship trained in sports medicine and arthroscopy. At Sports Medicine Oregon in Tigard and Wilsonville, Dr. Heisinger treats athletes of all ages and skill levels, with his main focus on arthroscopically treated disorders of the knee and shoulder. He also performs knee and hip replacement surgery, utilizing the anterior, minimally invasive, muscle sparing approach, as well as traumatic injuries including broken bones in both kids and adults. He specializes in ACL, meniscus and other reconstructive surgery of the knee, and rotator cuff repairs, as well as stabilization procedures in the shoulder.
Dr. Heisinger received his undergraduate degree at the University of South Dakota, before earning his medical degree at Des Moines University. After completing his internship, he spent 4 years in the Air Force as a flight surgeon. There he was a member of the Fighting Eagle’s 27thFighter Squadron in Langley, VA, equipped with the F-22 Raptor. He was then stationed at Shaw, SC with the 79thFighter Squadron, operating the F-16 Viper. Dr. Heisinger completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, OH, and chose to specialize even further in sports medicine and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, VA. There he covered athletes of all skill levels, including the Old Dominion University Monarchs, multiple high school teams, and the Washington Commanders NFL team.
After completing his training, he took his talents to La Grande, OR, where he was the head team physician and surgeon of the Eastern Oregon University Mountaineers. He did not limit his treatment to just athletes however, and honed his skills with anterior approach total hip replacements, knee replacements, trauma surgery, as well as degenerative conditions, pediatrics, and work injuries. He was also a clinical preceptor for Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), teaching orthopedics to medical students.

Tim Beals, DO is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip arthroscopy, anterior hip replacement, knee and shoulder replacement, and sports medicine. He completed his fellowship in advanced hip preservation and reconstruction at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
Dr Beals has a special research interest in the treatment of pre-arthritic hip conditions, including dysplasia. He has presented at national conferences and has published on the subject in top orthopedic journals. His dedication to high quality research has resulted in his placement on the editorial boards of The Journal of Arthroplasty and The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association of Orthopedics. As a Clinical Preceptor for Western University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr Beals is excited to help in the education of the area’s future physicians.

Conrad Hamilton, MD, is an orthopedic hand surgery specialist and microvascular surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon. He has a special interest in sports injuries, fracture management, upper extremity trauma, nerve repair, flap reconstruction, congenital differences, and arthritis of the hand.
Dr. Hamilton attended Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and Portland State University in Oregon for his undergraduate education. He earned his medical degree at Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine. Dr. Hamilton then completed a general surgery internship at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque. He then remained there to pursue subspecialty training in hand and microvascular surgery through an RRC-accredited fellowship in orthopedic hand surgery.
Dr. Hamilton is the consulting hand surgeon for the Portland Timbers of Major League Soccer, the Portland Thorns, and the Portland Thunder. Richard Edelson, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the team at Sports Medicine Oregon in Wilsonville and Tigard, Oregon, who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine. His practice includes a wide range of care and treatment for sports medicine injuries in athletes of all ages with a focus on arthroscopic surgery of knees and shoulders.
Dr. Edelson went to Stanford University for his undergraduate degree. He then graduated with both his medical degree and master’s degree in pathology from Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Dr. Edelson completed his surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah Medical Center and Affiliated Hospitals in Salt Lake. To round out his training, he pursued a sports medicine fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio.
Currently, Dr. Edelson is a team physician for the Portland Timbers professional soccer team and an orthopedic consultant for the Portland Thorns. He also provides orthopedic care for the Nike Sports Medicine Clinic and local area high schools. A past president of the Oregon Chapter of the Western Orthopedic Society, he has also been twice named the Oregon Ambulatory Surgery Center Association Medical Leader of the Year.
He is also the founder and Director of the Saving our Veterans Program and the Organizer and Director of “Passion 2 Play,” a youth injury prevention program. He has lectured nationally and internationally on sports medicine and health policy topics.
For recreation, he enjoys golf, skiing, and working out. He and his wife, Jill, have three children.
Jonathan Greenleaf, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine and pediatric orthopedics. At Sports Medicine Oregon in Tigard and Wilsonville, Oregon, Dr. Greenleaf treats a wide variety of orthopedic patients and is especially skilled in arthroscopic treatment of knees and shoulders.
Dr. Greenleaf received his undergraduate degree at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. After completing an internship at Eastern Virginia Medical Center in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Greenleaf returned to the Boston University School of Medicine for his orthopedic surgery residency. Dr. Britton Frome, a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, specializes in hand and microvascular surgery, complex trauma to the upper extremity, and soft tissue reconstruction. She has been a practicing orthopaedic surgeon for the past 18+ years and takes pride in giving her patients the best possible care. Dr. Frome loves to work on complex surgeries to help patients get back to their normal activities as quickly as possible.
She attended the University of Oregon and received her MS in General Science/Chemistry. She continued her education by attending MCP Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA where she earned her Doctor of Medicine degree while being a part of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Frome then came back to Oregon to start residency at Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) in Orthpaedic Surgery. Dr. Vande Zandschulp attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University. Following the completion of his residency, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery with the Orthopaedics Indianapolis group in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Vande Zandschulp is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and specializes in orthopedic trauma surgery. His practice focuses on fracture care–including non-healing fractures and mal-aligned fractures–and acute injuries to tendons, ligaments, and joints.
Dr. Vande Zandschulp is passionate about what he does. He chose this field of medicine because it gives him the ability to make an immediate difference in his patients’ lives with a real, visible improvement in their condition. He is also drawn to the mechanical aspects of orthopedics and the patients who are motivated to get better and overcome their injuries. In fact, he enjoys watching his patients heal and recover from their injuries so they can return to their lives after devastating, life-changing events. Originally from Calgary, Canada, Dr. Gillis moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2001 to attend the University of Washington in Seattle. He attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Southern California where he graduated in the top 10% of his class. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, Oregon. Following his residency, he completed a fully accredited fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity at SUNY Buffalo in New York. The robust training he received during residency and fellowship has given him the skills to manage a broad range of upper extremity issues from carpal tunnel syndrome to revision shoulder replacements.
Dr. Gillis is currently board-certified under the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. His practice focuses on upper extremity care from the shoulder to fingers, including complex trauma and nerve repair, primary and revision shoulder replacement and arthroscopy, elbow and wrist arthroscopy, and microsurgery.

Dr. Stephen J. Wallace is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma and limb lengthening and complex reconstruction. Dr. Wallace is a highly specialized orthopaedic surgeon who believes in personalized care to help identify optimal treatment pathways for his patients.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas, with a focus in biomechanics and bioinstrumentation. After college, Dr. Wallace worked as an engineer at a Rice University based global health group, Beyond Traditional Boarders, developing low-tech, high-impact technologies for underserved communities around the world. His medical education continued at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received his M.D.
Dr. Wallace completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center outside of Chicago, Illinois. During his residency, he gained additional surgical experience in Colombia – serving pediatric patients with severe deformities as part of a medical mission trip. Following his residency, Dr. Wallace completed two fellowships. He graduated from an Orthopaedic Trauma fellowship at Harborview Medical Center (HMC), University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Britton Frome is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. She specializes in hand and microvascular surgery, complex trauma to the upper extremity, and soft tissue reconstruction. She has practiced in Portland since 2005, and she is the immediate past president of the Oregon Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (OAOS).
Dr. Frome was recognized as one of Portland Monthly’s “Top Doctors” in 2018.
She is a member of the OAOS, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Vande Zandschulp attended medical school at Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Oregon Health & Science University. Following the completion of his residency, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery with the Orthopaedics Indianapolis group in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dr. Vande Zandschulp is board certified in orthopedic surgery and specializes in orthopedic trauma surgery. His practice focuses on fracture care–including non-healing fractures and mal-aligned fractures–and acute injuries to tendons, ligaments, and joints.
Dr. Vande Zandschulp is passionate about what he does. He chose this field of medicine because it gives him the ability to make an immediate difference in his patients’ lives with a real, visible improvement in their condition. He is also drawn to the mechanical aspects of orthopedics and the patients who are motivated to get better and overcome their injuries. In fact, he enjoys watching his patients heal and recover from their injuries so they can return to their lives after devastating, life-changing events. With appropriate care, patients can get back into the activities they didn’t think possible at the time of injury.
Originally, Dr. Vande Zandschulp is from Iowa but settled in Portland after his residency. Outside of the office, Dr. Vande Zandschulp enjoys spending time with his wife and sons, attending sporting events, reading, camping, and watching his boys’ activities.
