Richard Han, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Burlingame Orthopedics in Burlingame, California. He is a native of San Mateo County and specializes in sports medicine, treating patients of all ages in a welcoming, comfortable setting.

He is a member and esteemed fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He holds an advanced board subspecialty certification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Han enjoys helping people heal and returning them to their favorite activities. He has taken care of athletes at the University of California, Berkeley and Temple University.
He understands the challenges of caring for athletes as well as those limited in simple daily activities and ensures that they reach their goals, often without the need for surgery. He’s also conducted orthopedic research and authored textbook chapters on orthopedic medicine.
Dr. Han spent 8 years as an orthopedic surgeon in Modesto, CA. He served as the Chair of Orthopedics for Sutter Gould and Sutter Memorial Medical Center.
In his free time, Dr. Han enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children, snowboarding, cooking, trying new restaurants and traveling internationally.

Dr. Gaurav Abbi grew up in the Bay Area and attended UC San Diego for medical school. He trained at UC Davis in Orthopedic surgery and did a fellowship in spine surgery at NYU-Hospital for Joint Disease. From 2012-2016, he worked at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center as the Chief of Spine surgery in the Orthopedic department and as an associate Professor at Stanford.
He has now been in the peninsula area in private practice for 7 years, He has a strong proficiency and interest in spine, joint replacement and fracture care. He is the chair of orthopedic surgery at Seton Medical center. He also works at San Mateo county hospital, helping treat an under-served population in the community.

Dr. Shin graduated magna cum laude from UCLA and earned his medical degree at the UC Davis School of Medicine. After his residency, he completed a prestigious fellowship with the Department of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy at the University of California, San Francisco.

Dr. Victoria Barber is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and joined Peninsula Orthopedic Associates in Daly City, California, in 1996. Her interest in musculoskeletal injuries and diseases developed naturally through her participation in high school and collegiate athletics. Given her own athletic pursuits, Dr. Barber has an empathetic understanding of the impact musculoskeletal trauma and degenerative diseases have on her patients’ lives.
Dr. Barber is a 1986 graduate of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and a 1990 graduate of Yale University School of Medicine. Prior to heading west, Dr. Barber completed her surgical internship at George Washington University in Washington. Between 1992 and 1996, she completed her residency training at the San Francisco Orthopaedic Residency Program. In addition to the four-year residency program, Dr. Barber completed a year-long research fellowship at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco.
Dr. Barber is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the California Orthopaedic Association, and the American Medical Association, and she’s also a California Workers’ Compensation doctor.

Dr. Leslie Kim is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialization in shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Kim brings a special interest in sports medicine, workers’ compensation, forensic (medico-legal) orthopedics, and health care innovation to Peninsula Orthopedic Associates to help his patients in Daly City, California, lead healthy, active lives.
Dr. Kim graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, California, in 1974 and Stanford Medical School in 1978. He had completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, by 1983. He also received post-graduate fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery, orthopedic trauma, in Munich and in reconstructive surgery at Scripps Clinic in San Diego.

Outside of his work, Dr. Kim is a sports fitness and physical conditioning enthusiast who has participated in competitive triathlons and marathons.
