After finally meeting with Dr. Sahni i was greeted, asked general and medical questions, I understand moving into a new facility they are short staffed with equipment but i could’ve been re scheduled with an examination table and equipment! He explained to me a surgical procedure that is short time and can return to work next day. He showed me a video on his phone showing the procedure while he went to grab a flyer. I was uncertain and needed more information. We agreed for a follow us. It’s been two weeks and have not heard from his office for a follow up, Dr’s interaction could of been handled better.

This was not an isolated incident, as I have received multiple calls of this nature, which has become increasingly frustrating.
After two months of waiting, I finally visited the office and was taken back to the examination room. I was informed by the Medical Assistant that the office had recently moved into a new building and lacked the necessary equipment, including equipment to weigh me, record my temperature and blood pressure.
Despite this inconvenience, the Medical Assistant performed a few tests for nerve pain and other concerns.
After meeting with Dr. Sahni, I was greeted and asked general and medical questions. While I understand that the office may be short-staffed and experiencing equipment shortages, I could have been rescheduled with an examination table and the necessary equipment.

During his tenure at Austin Sports Medicine, Dr. Elenz has cared for athletes of all ages and skill levels, from youth teams and high school sports programs to professional All-Stars, Olympic Gold medalists, and World Champions. His accomplishments in sports medicine have been recognized by Texas Monthly and Austin Monthly magazines, which have named him to the Texas Super Doctor’s list every year since 2004 and to the Top Doctor list yearly since 2017. In addition, Dr. Elenz works as an orthopedic design consultant and training instructor for an international medical device company, which recently released a surgical implant he helped design.
Dr. Elenz and his wife have raised two children in Austin. He continues to be a sports enthusiast and enjoys swimming, traveling, photography, and giving back to his community through service on several local boards. Dr. Elenz believes fully in the Austin Sports Medicine motto, which explains his role as a doctor: “To get patients back to what they Love!”
Pedro Cosculluela, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Austin Foot & Ankle Institute, providing complete orthopedic care to teens and adults in Austin, Texas, and Bee Cave, Texas
Dr. Cosculluela was born and raised in Puerto Rico. He began pursuing his career at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, earning his medical degree. After graduation, Dr. Cosculluela moved to the United States. He completed an internship and residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and an orthopedic surgery fellowship at the OrthoCarolina Foot & Ankle Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Cosculluela has extensive training in all areas of orthopedics but specializes in treating disorders and injuries of the lower extremities, including foot and ankle fractures, ligament ruptures, and cartilage damage.
Whenever possible, Dr. Cosculluela uses a conservative and minimally invasive treatment approach. He’s a consultant for OrthoSolutions™––a medical manufacturer that designs orthopedic implants––and one of the developers of their Volition™ Ankle Fracture Management System.

Mary Elizabeth Gibson, MD is a fellowship trained orthopaedic hand surgeon, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow problems. Dr. Gibson also has training in general orthopaedics and fracture management of patients of all ages.
Born and raised in the Houston area, she earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Tulsa. She worked in the Texas Medical Center as an RN before attending medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. This unique background has given her an appreciation for healthcare at all levels, and the understanding of a collaborative approach to patient care.
Dr. Gibson completed orthopaedic residency at Orlando Health, a high volume hospital, which provided a broad educational base. During her time in Orlando, she served as administrative chief resident, and also earned the Resident Community Service Award for her work on a public service campaign to raise awareness of firework related injuries.
She then went on to complete Hand & Upper Extremity Fellowship at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, which included microvascular and peripheral nerve surgery. After fellowship, she worked in private practice in Tupelo, MS. Dr. Gibson and her family are thrilled at the opportunity to return to Texas. She is a member of several professional organizations including Texas Medical Association, American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and Ruth Jackson Orthopaedic Society.
At Northeast Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Gibson specializes in the treatment of traumatic and degenerative conditions of the upper extremity including trigger finger, carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, peripheral nerve injury, ganglion cyst, tendon problems, sport injuries, hand and wrist arthritis, Dupuytren’s disease, and fracture management. She appreciates the beneficial impact surgery can have, but believes that nonsurgical treatments including therapy, injections, and activity modification should be attempted first. Dr. Gibson prides herself in building a patient specific treatment plan to best meet the patients’ needs.

John Chance II, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a sports medicine subspecialty certificate. He provides patients in Live Oak and San Antonio, Texas, with the best in orthopaedic care at Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
Growing up, Dr. Chance was very active in sports and was exposed to orthopedic surgeons early on. His studies ultimately turned toward medicine and orthopaedics as a career. The ability to restore someone's function and quality of life is the passion that drives him. Dr. Chance enjoys getting acquainted with each patient to understand their concerns and expectations. This is how he can confidently diagnose and create a treatment plan, whether it's nonsurgical or surgical.
Dr. Chance earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and went on to complete an internship in general surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He stayed at Brooke Army Medical Center for his orthopaedic surgery residency. Dr. Chance is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Orthopedic Association, Texas Medical Association, and the Bexar County Medical Society.
Dr. Chance served in the United States Army Medical Corps until February 2009. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service while acting as Chief of Orthopedic Surgery, Abu Ghraib, during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The military helped shape Dr. Chance's career. He gained broad experience, which included treatment of complex sports injuries, as well as the trauma associated with a combat zone. His specialty interests include arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee, hip and knee joint replacement, and fractures.

Donald N. Hope, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in adult hip and knee reconstruction. He practices at Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, with locations in Live Oak, Schertz, and San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Hope specializes in primary hip and knee replacement, as well as complex and revision joint replacements.
Originally from Ohio, Dr. Hope completed an accelerated B.S./M.D. program at Youngstown State University and Northeast Ohio University College of Medicine, where he was selected for the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
After obtaining his medical degree in 2010, Dr. Hope entered active duty in the United States Army, completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in 2016, including a year of research. During this time, he had the privilege of caring for our nation’s wounded warriors.
The Army selected Dr. Hope to undergo additional subspecialty fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, focusing on complex hip and knee surgery, including total joints, revision surgery, and periprosthetic fracture management.
Upon completing his training in 2017, Dr. Hope served at San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he held various roles over time, including Chief of the Adult Reconstruction Service, Chair of the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery program, and Associate Residency Program Director for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety. He was honored with several teaching awards for graduate medical education through the orthopaedic surgery residency program.
During his active duty time, Dr. Hope deployed to Afghanistan as the Deputy Commander of Clinical Services at a NATO Role 2E Hospital and later to Iraq and Syria as the Chief Medical Officer for Operation Inherent Resolve.
Dr. Hope enjoys a subspecialty practice that allows him to implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Additionally, he incorporates protocols and technology that facilitate rapid recovery after surgery.
Outside of orthopaedics, Dr. Hope spends time with his wife and four children. He enjoys riding horses and volunteers with the medical committee and Justin Sports Medicine Team at the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo.
David L. Fox, MD, is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist practicing at Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, which has locations in Live Oak and San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Fox completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, where he majored in chemistry. He went on to study at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine, where he finished at the top of his class, earning numerous awards and scholarships. Dr. Fox completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic located in Rochester, Minnesota. In 1989, he completed his training and entered private practice in San Antonio.
Although Dr. Fox has trained at one of the world's top medical centers, he understands that continuing research is the key to providing cutting-edge orthopedic care. He has extensive knowledge and experience conducting various research studies with his research team. These studies have focused on deep vein thrombosis (DVT) prevention for total hip and total knee replacement, osteoarthritis medications for the knee and hip, stem cell research for a torn meniscus, and knee injections for osteoarthritis.
Dr. Fox is part of the Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine practice in San Antonio and specializes in total and partial hip and knee replacement. Dr. Fox uses the anterior approach for hip replacement and robotic surgery for knee replacement.

Matthew Napierala, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. At Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Live Oak and San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Napierala specializes in sports medicine and shoulder and elbow surgery.
Dr. Napierala graduated magna cum laude with a double bachelor's degree in biology and political science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2005. Four years later, he earned his medical doctorate at The Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, where he graduated cum laude.
From 2009 to 2014, Dr. Napierala completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston, Texas. His expert skill and dedication to his training earned Dr. Napierala the coveted title of administrative chief resident during the final year of his residency.
In 2019, Dr. Napierala completed a shoulder, elbow, and sports medicine fellowship at the prestigious University of Washington in Seattle. He also served as an acting instructor at the school while he finished his training.

Dr. Simons' interest in orthopedic surgery began during medical school when he was able to rotate through different areas of medicine. He was on an emergency medicine rotation when he observed the orthopedic surgeons take care of trauma patients with serious injuries. From that moment, he decided to pursue a career in orthopaedics.
At Northeast Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, Dr. Simon enjoys the ability to improve the lives of patients with injuries or chronic pain. A patient with painful arthritis in the knee can often return to a normal, pain-free life after knee replacement surgery. Seeing happy patients come back over the years is very satisfying for Dr. Simon.
Dr. Simon finds joy in seeing patients and discussing their problems. He takes a slightly more conservative approach to patient care and is happy to be able to provide surgical and nonsurgical options for his patients. Working together with the patient, he goes through all the options before determining the best approach for each individual person. His goal is to help his patients achieve pain-free activities as much as possible. Dr. Simon identifies the things that are holding them back from accomplishing their lifestyle goals and finds either surgical or nonsurgical treatment options.
