Dr. Gerard T. Gabel is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery. He has been in practice for more than 20 years. In addition to practicing with Southwest Orthopedic Group, LLP, in the Houston and Sugar Land, Texas, offices, he is also an orthopedic surgery staff member at Houston Methodist Hospital. Dr. Gabel treats both adults and children.

Dr. Gabel grew up in Houston and cares deeply about the community he serves. He received his medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education and a hand surgery fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.

Dr. Gabel is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and earned a certificate of added qualifications for surgery of the hand. He specializes in disorders of the hand, shoulder, and elbow, as well as sports medicine.
