Nathanael Heckmann, MD, is a leading orthopedic surgeon with offices in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and in Glendale, California. He is also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Southern California’s (USC) Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Heckmann received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and philosophy at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and his medical degree at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He completed an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at USC, and a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to performing surgery, Dr. Heckmann actively conducts research and has published over 70 scholarly reviews, research papers, and book chapters.
Dr. Heckmann takes a holistic approach to patient care, working to treat the whole person, rather than merely focusing on a specific area of pain.
