Robert G. “Bo” Lewis, MD is the founder of Coastal Shoulder Surgery & Sports Medicine and has been specializing in shoulder surgery since 2006. Dr. Lewis is a board-certified, fellowship-trained shoulder surgeon specializing in arthroscopic shoulder surgery & Sports Medicine.
Although a specialist in Orthopaedic arthroscopy, Dr. Lewis’ has his roots in business. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration & Risk Management. Following a couple of years of real-world business experience working in Tampa, Florida, Dr. Lewis obtained his medical degree at the University of South Florida, College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and Orthopaedic residency at the Medical College of Georgia and then went on to obtain advanced training in shoulder surgery completing his fellowship in shoulder surgery at McCluskey Orthopaedic Surgery.
Prior to establishing Coastal Shoulder Surgery & Sports Medicine, Dr. Lewis was the founder of Columbus Shoulder Surgery & Sports Medicine, former co-director of the St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute Shoulder service line and director of the St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute Sports Medicine service line.
Having performed greater than 10,000 arthroscopic procedures in thousands of patients, he has established his expertise in arthroscopic surgeries, and in particular the shoulder. His most common shoulder procedures include rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, biceps tenodesis and superior capsular reconstructions. He and his anesthesia team, have championed a new approach of shoulder surgery without general anesthesia.
His practice also encompasses a variety of sports medicine procedures treating common injuries of the elbow, hip and knee. Dr. Lewis’ surgical skills also include all-inside arthroscopic ACL reconstructions in the knee, Tommy John procedures in the elbow, and arthroscopic hip procedures.
Dr. Lewis is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and maintains professional memberships in the Arthroscopy Association of North America, Southern Orthopaedic Association, Florida Orthopaedic Society and Florida Medical Association.
Jake Dunn, DO, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Columbus Orthopaedic Associates, providing complete orthopedic care to individuals in Columbus and all of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Dr. Dunn studied at the University of Memphis in Tennessee, earning his undergraduate degree in biology. The following year, he enrolled at the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, obtaining his medical degree in osteopathic medicine.
Upon completion of medical school, Dr. Dunn completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Doctors Medical Center of Modesto in California and an orthopedics and sports medicine fellowship at Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, Florida. While there, Dr. Dunn received direct training from world-renowned orthopedic surgeon James Andrews, MD.
Dr. Dunn learned all aspects of sports medicine and orthopedic surgery during these experiences. He was schooled in open and minimally invasive surgical techniques and learned how to treat various musculoskeletal injuries, including shoulder instability, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears, and ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) injuries.
At the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Dr. Dunn received on-the-job training, serving as the team physician for the Pensacola Blue Wahoos minor league baseball team, the Auburn Tigers sports teams, and the Tuskegee Golden Tigers sports teams. After completing his fellowship, Dr. Dunn moved to Georgia and joined St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Dunn is a member of several professional organizations, including the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
Dr. Dunn takes a minimally invasive, patient-centered treatment approach. He loves getting to know the folks in his care and has a friendly, compassionate bedside manner.
Dr. Dunn enjoys spending his time away from work with his wife, three sons, and three dogs. He’s a huge Atlanta Braves fan and enjoys following area high school and collegiate baseball teams.

Luther (Luke) Wolff III, MD, is a Columbus native with strong medical ties to the Chattahoochee Valley. He sees patients at Columbus Orthopaedic Associates in Columbus, Georgia.As a third-generation surgeon in the community, he follows in the footsteps of his father and grandfather to provide the best care available to his patients.
Upon completion of medical school at Mercer University, Dr. Wolff received his orthopedic training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, followed by two fellowships, including Orthopedic Trauma at the Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and Adult Reconstruction at the Hughston Clinic. For the last 17 years of practice in Columbus, he has developed a tremendous team, both in the office and in the operating room, to provide the best care for his patients. Collectively, they strive to provide the best experience and successful outcomes utilizing the most recent technology.
Dr. Wolff treats disorders of the hip and knee primarily but also cares for many patients with broken bones and soft tissue injuries. He is passionate about caring for veterans, in particular, after serving 13 years in the Army Reserves and attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Dr. Wolff is board-certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is a member of several boards of directors in Columbus. He has presented research locally, nationally, and internationally and is a member of many orthopedic societies, including the Mayo Society, Campbell Clinic Society, Society of Military Orthopedic Surgeons, Southeastern Orthopedic Society, and Southern Orthopedic Society.
He enjoys teaching medical students as an Assistant Professor in surgery with Mercer Medical School, and is on the Board of Governors of Mercer University School of Medicine.
Dr. Patrick Martin was born in Champaign, Ill. while his father was stationed there in the Air Force, but grew up in Alabama. He attended Auburn University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in premedical sciences/biology.
Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from UAB. Thereafter, he completed his orthopedic surgical residency at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Miss. Dr. Martin completed an AO Trauma Fellowship at St. John’s Hospital in Jackson Hole, Wyo. under the guidance of Dr. Ken Lambert, and received further training during a joint reconstruction fellowship with Dr. Anthony Hedley at The Arizona Institute for Bone and Joint Disorders in Phoenix, Ariz.
Dr. Martin is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His practice is general orthopedics with a special interest in joint replacement, sports medicine and trauma.
Dr. Martin and his wife, Traci, have three children, Tanner, McLane and Andie.
