During his fellowship, Dr. Khabie cared for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Los Angeles Sparks, and the University of Southern California football and basketball teams.
Dr. Khabie is a leading expert in the field of orthopaedic sports medicine surgery and possesses a particular interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, as well as robotic- assisted knee replacement surgery. He is the creator of a unique, patented knee brace with a multidimensional neoprene support called the “Victory Knee Brace,” which was first introduced at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Francisco in 2004.
He is a Diplomate of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and possesses a subspecialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Khabie is the former Chief of Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital, where he is also the co-director of the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU and currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York Medical College. He was awarded top doctor from NY Top Docs, a division of USA Top Docs, in 2024.
Dr Khabie serves as the Medical Director and Orthopedic Surgeon to Pace University Athletics, an NCAA Division II sports program.
When Dr. Khabie is not performing arthroscopic surgery, he is a senior ringside physician for the New York State Athletic Commission, where he cares for professional boxers and has been ringside for numerous world championship bouts. He also cares for professional, collegiate, high school and recreational athletes.
Dr. Khabie is a published author of medical literature and has made numerous presentations to both local and national groups. He was the sports medicine column writer for a local newspaper, The Patent Trader. He has appeared on NBC News, The Today Show, and local TV programs. He has been widely quoted in the media by organizations, such as ESPN, The Associated Press, and Reuters. Dr. Khabie was featured in the New York Times article, "When the Bell Sounds, Surgeon Answers Ringside Calling.” He was also a featured guest on Sirius XM Radio, Starz Channel’s "Broadminded," and the CBS Early Morning Show’s "Surgeon by Day, Ringside Doctor by Night.” He is also a regular guest host on "Talk Back Live" WOR Radio, New York 710 AM.
