Dr. Leslie Kim is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialization in shoulder and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Kim brings a special interest in sports medicine, workers’ compensation, forensic (medico-legal) orthopedics, and health care innovation to Peninsula Orthopedic Associates to help his patients in Daly City, California, lead healthy, active lives.
Dr. Kim graduated from Stanford University in Stanford, California, in 1974 and Stanford Medical School in 1978. He had completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, by 1983. He also received post-graduate fellowship training in arthroscopic surgery, orthopedic trauma, in Munich and in reconstructive surgery at Scripps Clinic in San Diego.
Following his formal training, Dr. Kim gained additional experience while working at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and serving as a local college team physician. He also gained working knowledge of the workers’ compensation system as the medical director of a large statewide medical group.
Currently, Dr. Kim is the chair of the orthopedic surgery department at Mills-Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame, California, and on staff at Seton Medical Center in Daly City. Physician colleagues have elected him president of the California Orthopaedic Association, president of the San Mateo County Medical Association, a trustee on the Board of the California Medical Association, and Executive Committee member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Board of Councilors.
Outside of his work, Dr. Kim is a sports fitness and physical conditioning enthusiast who has participated in competitive triathlons and marathons. Having been born and raised in Hawaii, he enjoys a variety of water sports and outdoor activities, ranging from sailing and diving to skiing and trekking in the Himalayas.
Noel Goldthwaite, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon with over 25 years of experience practicing at Peninsula Orthopedic Associates in Daly City, California.
Dr. Goldthwaite earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of California at Davis and has served as the Chief of orthopedic surgery at the SpineCare Medical Group since 1988. He is also a member of the San Francisco Medical Society.
Dr. Goldthwaite has lectured nationally, authored several research studies, and presented original research on spinal fusions and numerous other state-of-the-art surgical techniques; neck pain treatments; pre- and post-operative evaluations of patient pain and pain management; the lumbar spine; and the effects of surgical decisions on patients. Dr. A. Shabi Khan is an arthroscopic specialist at Peninsula Orthopedic Associates, helping patients in Daly City, California, address a wide range of issues, including knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle problems. Dr. Victoria Barber, MD
