I received my training in orthopedic surgery in New York City at St. Luke’s-RooseveltHospital Center and pursued advanced fellowship training in shoulder and arthroscopic surgery at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. I’ve been in practice for more than 20 years and I’m most proud of the tens of thousands of patients I have helped and thousands of successful surgeries I have performed.
I’m also proud to have been named a New Jersey Monthly Top Doctor three times and also a New Jersey Monthly Bone and Joint Select Surgeon the last four years running. I am very clear, compassionate and direct with my patients and treat them as I’d treat a family member or friend. My favorite part of my job is restoring my patients to a high quality of life and helping them return to their desired recreational activities and passions.
In my free time I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife, two teenage daughters and dogs Daisy and Peri. I also enjoy exercise and travel.
Patrick A. Wang is an exceptional board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. He treats patients at MidJersey Orthopaedics, boasting two state-of-the-art clinics conveniently located in Flemington, Bridgewater and Washington, New Jersey.
Dr. Wang graduated cum laude from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. There, he earned a Bachelor of Science in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in neuroscience. After finishing undergrad, he went on to Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he graduated with his Doctor of Medicine.
Dr. Wang stayed at Drexel University College of Medicine for his orthopaedic surgery residency, which he completed in conjunction with the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He also finished a fellowship in orthopaedic sports medicine at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

As a highly-trained board-certified orthopedic surgeon, Richard Chang, MD, has established himself as one of the leading orthopedists in the area. As part of the team at MidJersey Orthopaedics in Flemington and Bridgewater, New Jersey, Dr. Chang treats a wide variety of disorders of both the lower and upper extremities, including the knee, hip, ankle, shoulders, and more.
Dr. Chang obtained his undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, graduating with honors. He then completed medical school at the New York University School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Chang underwent his residency training at Thomas Jefferson University and the Rothman Institute, both in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware, and Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.
Dr. Chang then completed several fellowships, including hand and upper extremity, shoulder, and pediatric hand and upper extremity care at multiple hospitals throughout New York City and Dallas, Texas.

Daniel Smith, MD, FAAOS, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He sees patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in Carmel, Fishkill, and Mount Kisco, New York, as well as Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Smith graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in human development. He earned his medical degree at New York University Grossman School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Montefiore Medical Center, affiliated with the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He then pursued fellowship training in adult reconstruction at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, focusing on complex hip and knee replacement, revision hip and knee replacement, and robotic-assisted joint replacement surgery.

Dean C. Perfetti, MD, MPH, is a fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Perfetti sees patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group at their Mount Kisco, Carmel, Newburgh locations in New York, and their Danbury location in Connecticut.
Dr. Perfetti obtained his undergraduate degree at Columbia College (Columbia University), graduating with the highest honors of Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
He achieved a dual Medical Degree and Master of Public Health Degree from the State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine. He graduated at the top of his class with the highest honors of Alpha Omega Alpha and Beta Ioda Chapter of Delta Omega.
He completed a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell as chief resident, followed by a spine surgery fellowship at the prestigious Texas Back Institute, which pioneered Total Disc Replacement in the United States.
Dr. Perfetti’s clinical focus is on caring for back and neck injuries, whether from acute traumas such as herniations or fractures, chronic conditions like arthritis and stenosis, or spinal abnormalities.
His goal is to promote the health of the vertebral column, spinal cord, and nerve roots to decrease pain and improve function for his patients, ultimately getting them back to their active lifestyles.

Dr. Perfetti grew up in Scarsdale, New York, and played soccer for F.C. Westchester, winning three New York State Championships and a National Championship at Disney. He transitioned to football at Columbia, where he played four years as a kicker/punter at the Division 1 level.
Daniel Howard, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty fellowship training in sports medicine. He provides individualized, compassionate care to patients at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group in Mount Kisco, Fishkill, and Carmel, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Howard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the cross country and track and field teams. He received his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident during his final year. He then went on to the prestigious Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles to complete his sports medicine fellowship, where he was part of the medical staff of the Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Los Angeles Galaxy, Los Angeles Sparks, and many junior colleges and high schools.
He has written numerous peer-reviewed publications and performed research involving NFL, MLB, MLS, and NWSL athletes. His research interests and projects include injury prevention in youth and adolescent pitchers and athletes, safe return to sport after injury, improving and measuring patient outcomes, and improving surgical techniques.

Dr. Howard treats a wide variety of orthopaedic and sports-related issues of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and hip. He has particular clinical interests in knee injuries of the ligaments, meniscus, and cartilage; shoulder injuries of the rotator cuff, labrum, and instability; working with overhead and throwing athletes; and working with runners.
Dr. Howard offers his patients specialized treatment with minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery, as well as state-of-the-art technology including platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell treatment. He currently serves as the Team Physician for Mahopac High School and Assistant Team Physician for Pace University.
