This was a major turning point in his career, as he was able to elevate the level of care offered to local patients. In 2021 Dr. Limoni performed the very first FDA-approved augmented reality total knee replacement in the U.S. Dr. Limoni also co-founded Match Grade Medical, a Wisconsin-based surgical equipment company that develops high-quality positioning devices to enhance safety and precision for orthopedic surgeons. He has also co-authored several surgical publications and was named one of the top 70 knee surgeons in the country by Becker’s Healthcare.

Following medical school, Dr. Mejia served 10 years in the United States Navy, which included training as an aerospace medicine specialist, and he worked as a naval flight surgeon with the United States Marine Corps in California.
Throughout his military career, Dr. Mejia earned multiple commendations and awards before leaving the Navy with the rank of lieutenant commander.
Following his service career, Dr. Mejia completed another year of specialized training in orthopedic sports medicine and rehabilitation at the world-famous Cincinnati SportsMedicine and Orthopaedic Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. During his sports medicine fellowship, Dr. Mejia treated a wide range of athletes, from Olympians and professional players to weekend warriors.
In his free time, Dr. Mejia is a baseball enthusiast, and it shows in his work too. He’s proud to serve as the head team physician for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers minor league baseball team, and he’s also a team physician for the Milwaukee Brewers. He formerly served as a team physician for the Seattle Mariners.
