Mark Wolgin, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery and spinal dysfunction treatments. Since 2006, he has served patients in the Albany, Georgia, area at Orthopaedic Associates.
A California native, Dr. Wolgin launched his medical career at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a bachelor’s degree followed by his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1986. Six years later, Dr. Wolgin finished an orthopaedic surgery residency program at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
Throughout his more than 30-year career as a doctor, Dr. Wolgin has completed two important fellowship programs: one for spinal surgery at the Institute for Spinal Disorders, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles and a second in foot and ankle surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Wolgin is passionate about diagnosing orthopaedic problems and designing comprehensive treatment plans for his patients. He has training in a number of orthopaedic procedures, including minimally invasive surgical techniques that reduce tissue damage.
Dr. Wolgin prides himself not only on treating spinal dysfunction patients, but also on educating them about all aspects of their condition, diagnosis, and treatment plan, ensuring that they feel cared for and heard.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Wolgin enjoys sports, especially playing basketball and skiing. He also plays the drums and loves to read.
Paul Anton Michas, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with a passion for sports medicine, focusing on knee injuries and shoulder problems, as well as musculoskeletal trauma and fractures. He has practiced general orthopaedics at Orthopaedic Associates in Albany, Georgia, since joining the practice in 1999.
Dr. Michas’ interest in medicine began when he was still an undergraduate at Florida State University, where he studied psychology and biology. After graduating in 1988, Dr. Michas attended UHS/The Chicago Medical School and received a master’s degree in physiology. He went on to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree in 1992 from the same school.
Upon graduation, Dr. Michas began a general surgery internship at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans before completing his orthopaedic surgery residency there in 1997. During his time at Tulane Medical Center, Dr. Michas rose to become the hospital’s chief resident of orthopaedic surgery.
After returning to his native Florida to practice for a couple of years, Dr. Michas relocated to Georgia and joined the Orthopaedic Associates team, where he continues to thrive and treat patients for an array of orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries.
Dr. Michas is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Medical Association of Georgia.
During his spare time, Dr. Michas loves weight training, water sports, and spending time at home in Lee County with his wife and three sons.
Thomas Darden, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon trained in both general and total joint orthopaedics. Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Darden serves patients in the Albany, Georgia, community at Orthopaedic Associates, specializing in sports medicine.
A Tennessee native, Dr. Darden has been passionate about orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine since graduating from Quillen-Dishner College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee, 1987. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Louisville Area Hospitals in Kentucky.
In 1992, Dr. Darden launched his own private orthopaedic practice with Orthopaedic Associates, where he continues to see patients today.
Dr. Darden has a wide range of orthopaedic interests, including musculoskeletal trauma treatment, the diagnosis and treatment of knee pain, fractures, and shoulder pain, and total joint replacement.
With more than 30 years of experience as an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Darden continues to make the comfort, care, and treatment of his patients his top priority.
Dr. Darden is a member of the Medical Association of Georgia and the American Medical Association.
When he’s not treating patients, Dr. Darden enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his wife and four children.
