Dr. Omar N. Osmani is an orthopedic surgeon with dual sub-specialty fellowship training in Spine and Joint Replacement surgery. He completed his orthopedic training at the world-renowned Kenton Leatherman Spine Center and The University of Louisville in Kentucky. In 2004 he moved to Roswell, NM and has since called it home. Dr. Osmani has been actively involved with his patients, addressing their concerns with compassion and care, and with a solid scientific foundation. He has been published in several peer-reviewed journals and has been an acting pioneer in the community, introducing the latest cutting edge technologies. Among the many significant contributions to his field, Dr. Osmani developed an innovative closure technique for Total Hip Replacement that prevents hip dislocation. This procedure was referred to in Campbell’s Orthopedics, the most trusted reference for orthopedic surgeons. Being in rural New Mexico does not deter him from pursuing and keeping up with the latest cutting edge technologies and making them available to the southeastern New Mexico inhabitants. His goal is to adopt the new technologies that make surgery less invasive, resulting in less collateral damage and faster recovery. As a testament to this commitment, he was the first to perform and introduce the following procedures and technologies in New Mexico:
Balloon Kyphoplasty: the minimally invasive treatment for vertebral compression fracture.
Aquamantys, a special cauterization device that decreases bleeding during surgeries.
Endoscopic Spine Surgery. With this procedure, he is able to treat disc herniation through a small stab under local anesthesia. The patient is walking just a few minutes after the surgery and is expected to be home in just a few hours.
Minimally Invasive Device for Spine Surgery: Coflex, a promising device that treats people with back pain and spinal stenosis, sparing those patients a major fusion surgery.
Visionaire, the patient-matched instrumentation from Smith and Nephew for Total Knee Replacement. This process makes surgery more efficient and more precise because it uses custom-designed blocks for every patient based on an MRI and x-ray prior to surgery.
Dr. Osmani is always on the lookout for new technologies that will help take care of his patients, who he treats individually like his own family. He deeply believes that the interests of his patients are his interests, and always strives to provide the best, most compassionate care.
He is the founder of the Spine and Orthopedic Center of New Mexico in 2013, as well as the Roswell Urgent Orthocare.
He was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of New Mexico Albuquerque in November 2013, and Assistant Clinical Professor at the Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2019.

Podiatrist Aamir Mahmood, DPM, created Momentum Foot & Ankle Clinic to get to know people on a personal level and provide them with the space they need to receive the best podiatric care. At the offices in Michigan City and Chesterton, Indiana, and Lombard, Illinois, Dr. Mahmood is excited to be a part of the community, and wants his patients to feel at home. His goal will always be to make them feel comfortable because when patients feel they can be honest with him, that’s when the real treatment begins.
Dr. Mahmood is a born and bred Chicago native who grew up knowing all too well the importance of podiatric health. He was born with pes planus (flat feet) and spent his childhood wearing orthotics, braces, and dealing with sporadic pain due to rigorous activity. These experiences allowed him to realize very early on that he wanted to pursue a career in medicine.
After completing his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola University of Chicago, Dr. Mahmood decided to take a year to complete a Masters in Public Health from Benedictine University to equip him with a better understanding of a different viewpoint of medicine. From here, he completed his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine (formerly known as Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine). He then completed a three-year surgical residency at Jesse Brown VA in Chicago, specializing in foot and ankle surgery where he served as chief resident. During his residency, he presented peer-reviewed abstracts at multiple surgical and wound care conferences. His research won an award at the Symposium for Advanced Wound Care in 2018.
Dr. Mahmood has board qualifications in the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in Forefoot/Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle.
When Dr. Mahmood isn’t a force of change in podiatry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids. He is a car aficionado and loves to teach his kids everything he knows about cars. He also enjoys surrounding himself with friends and family and hosting gatherings. He is known to be an avid basketball player and an encyclopedia of trivial facts. What drives him in life is his passion for meeting people and creating lasting relationships.
