Dr. Samir Sharma is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician. He currently practices at South Bay Orthopedic and Sports Medicine with his wife, Dr. Kavita Sharma, and a talented team of medical professionals in Campbell, California.
After being raised in Michigan, Dr. Sharma moved to Miami where he was accepted to the honors accelerated medical program at the University of Miami, Florida. He moved back to Michigan to attend the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where he graduated with a top of the class distinction. During his orthopedic surgery residency there, he worked under Dr. Robert Teitge, a team physician for the Detroit Pistons.
Dr. Sharma completed a sports medicine externship at the University of Pittsburgh under Christopher Harner and Freddie Fu, before finishing his residency at the Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Cleeman was featured in New York Magazine’s Best Doctors listing, as well as Castle Connolly Top Doctors. His specialty areas include cutting-edge techniques for relieving shoulder pain, bursitis, tears to the meniscus, ACL, biceps and labrum, dislocated shoulder and rotator cuff issues, and frozen shoulder.
Dr. Cleeman studied in New York City and received his undergraduate degree at New York University in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, and his medical degree at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed a surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Cleeman rounded out his postdoctoral training with a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at Nirschl Orthopaedic Center for Sports Medicine in Arlington, Virginia.
In addition to his clinic work, Dr. Cleeman serves as an assistant clinical professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and conducts orthopedic research. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Sports Medicine. Dr. Cleeman’s artistry goes well beyond the surgical suite. He’s an accomplished painter whose work has been featured at several art exhibits. In his spare time, Dr. Cleeman enjoys cycling with the New York Cycling Club and has volunteered at the New York City Triathlon.
Jeffrey A. Silverstein, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and hip and knee reconstruction specialist at 360 Orthopedics in Sarasota, Venice, and Lakewood Ranch, Florida. He specializes in general orthopedics and joint replacement.
Dr. Silverstein earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at Indiana University. He then attended medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Illinois/Chicago Medical Center, followed by a hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at Florida Orthopedic Institute.
As an advocate for improving the quality of life for his patients, Dr. Silverstein believes that open communication between physicians and patients is key to successful outcomes. He is trained in the latest techniques for orthopedic care of hip and knee replacements, including direct anterior hip replacements and traumatic fractures. His patients are offered both surgical and non-surgical options. When surgery is necessary, Dr. Silverstein may perform less invasive techniques including muscle-sparing incisions, partial knee replacements, robotic-assisted technology, and custom patient-specific implants.
Dr. Silverstein hails from West Virginia, now living in Florida with his wife and two children. He enjoys staying active with cross-training, cycling, tennis, skiing, golf, and international travel.
