Dr. Joshua Gersten was born and raised in Long Island. He graduated summa cum laude from Touro College and received a B.S. in biology. He then earned a D.M.D from the University of Pittsburgh in 2016. During these academic years he presented research with the Feinstein Institute and the International Dental Research Association as well as collaborated on projects with the special-needs dentistry, dental anesthesia and pharmacy programs. Upon graduating, faculty recognized these efforts and presented him the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award, which was bestowed upon a single graduate each year who demonstrated outstanding academic achievements in the profession of dentistry.
Following graduation, he completed a one-year general practice residency at Kings County Hospital Center (KCHC) in Brooklyn, New York. This offered him invaluable experience in managing comprehensive implant and prosthetic cases utilizing cutting edge treatment modalities. Fostering a respect and appreciation for the diverse needs of his patients, he furthered his training by completing an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Residency at KCHC, the first designated level-1 trauma center in the US. During this time, he gained tremendous clinical proficiency in facial trauma, anesthesia, orthognathic surgery and head and neck pathology.
Dr. Gersten strives to provide the highest quality of care to his patients. He believes in dedicating his efforts toward the well-being of his community through superior patient experience. Dr. Gersten continues to advance his surgical skills and knowledge of the specialty through continuing education and academic appointments.

Dr. Schabes is a graduate of the Columbia College of Dental Medicine and did his specialty training at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American (and International) College of Dentists. He holds teaching appointments at the New York University College of Dentistry and the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.
Dr. Schabes is the former Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and is on the attending staff of the Northwell Health Department of Dental Medicine. He has received advanced post-graduate training in the field of dental implants and temporomandibular disorders (TMJ).
He had devoted his career to the pursuit of excellence in patient care and to the teaching of his specialty.
Dr. Oluremi (Remi) Ogunsanya graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2016. He completed a highly sought-after internship at New York’s Mount Sinai Oral and Maxillofacial Program and finished his residency at Howard University Hospital, where he obtained an anesthesia license and received training in medical and general surgery. Dr. Ogunsanya completed his training with honors, receiving the Best Chief Resident Award. He chose to bring his skills back home to New York City to be close to family and friends. In his free time, he enjoys reading, camping, music, traveling, and sports.
Saar Amrani, DMD, is a board-certified oral surgeon and the medical director of Kings Highway Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the Midwood neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.
Dr. Amrani strives to deliver safe, high-quality surgical care to patients of all ages. He is dedicated to educating patients about their oral and maxillofacial procedure and raising awareness for dental health. To deliver the best care possible, Dr. Amrani works with a compassionate team of professionals who always ensures every patient receives the exceptional oral health care they deserve.
Dr. Amrani is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He attended Nova Southeastern University before pursuing his doctorate in dental medicine at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where he also received his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Tyler Nelson, DDS, is thrilled to practice oral surgery at Ramona Dental Specialists in Ramona, California! Although his life’s journeys have taken him far from home, he is grateful to be back.
Dr. Nelson received his bachelor’s degree in Spanish from Brigham Young University. During his undergraduate education, he took a “career exploration” class, which required him to observe numerous professions. When he observed an oral surgeon in action, he found his passion and made up his mind rather quickly, that this was the career path for him. He loves what he does every day.
During dental school at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco, Dr. Nelson served as class president each year, and as Student Body President during his senior year. He graduated with high honors and was accepted into the 4-year oral and maxillofacial surgery program at Highland Hospital in Oakland, California.
During his residency, Dr. Nelson was trained in IV sedation, dental implants, the removal of problematic teeth, facial trauma, and orthognathic (jaw repositioning) surgery. He also presented research on jaw tumors and imaging modalities for the diagnosis of mandibular fractures.
Dr. Tyler Nelson is happily married to his college sweetheart, Natalie. Together, they are proud parents of six children. Beyond spending time with his family, Dr. Nelson enjoys running, biking, and snowboarding.
Oz Simel, DDS, MD, is a dual degree oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He is dedicated to providing patients in San Jose, California, and the surrounding areas with comprehensive dental care.
After graduating from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with his undergraduate degree, Dr. Simel earned his dental degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). While at UCSF, he discovered his passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery and ventured down to Southern California, where he attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and spent six years in residency obtaining the skills and medical knowledge essential to the field.
Dr. Simel offers a wide range of dental surgeries and procedures. He ensures patients understand their options and answers any questions they have.
Dr. Nariman Saadat is our Oral Surgeon at Miracle Dental. He is trained in carrying out complex surgical procedures with ease, confidence, and extreme success. Dr. Saadat sees most of our patients who have complex extractions, including impacted wisdom teeth. His ability and training to comfortably put patients to sleep during these procedures is just one of the reasons patients feel at ease with Dr. Saadat.
Dr. Saadat completed his bachelors degree at UCLA, focusing on Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. Following his undergraduate degree, he went on to earn his dental degree from UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Saadat then continued to complete his medical and surgical education at Oregon Health and Science University, where he received world-class training in the thorough management of oral and maxillofacial surgical treatments.
Ameet Chopra, DDS, is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon serving patients at Vartanian Dental Group in Mission Viejo, California. He specializes in dental implants, sedation dentistry, and corrective jaw surgery.
Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Chopra attended the University of California, Irvine, for his undergraduate degree. After graduating with honors, he attended Pacific University Dental School, the only accelerated three-year program in the United States. He then attended UCLA for an oral and maxillofacial surgery internship and completed a residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Jeremy Owyoung, DDS, is a skilled periodontist at Vartanian Dental Group in Mission Viejo, California. He specializes in treating and maintaining the gums, bones, and tissue that support your teeth.
A graduate of the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Owyoung graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, and Management Science. He then received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California’s School of Dentistry (USC).
Upon completing dental school, Dr. Owyoung trained at the University of California, San Francisco, to achieve his specialty certificate in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry. During this time, he also earned a master’s degree in Biomaterials and Oral Biology. He has published literature on various topics, including chronic disease prevention, oral health promotion, dental biomaterials, and oral implantology.
Dr. Owyoung is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a recognized specialty of the American Dental Association.

Reed Rayher, DDS, MD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Ueno Center Dental Specialists in Campbell, California. He is San Francisco Bay Area native who grew up in Santa Rosa, California.
Dr. Rayher attended college at the University of California at San Diego, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in bio-engineering while being elected to the prestigious engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi.
After moving back to the Bay Area, Dr. Rayher earned both his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) degrees from the University of California at San Francisco. While a student, he was active in student government and was elected to serve as the Student Body President of UCSF. Upon graduation, Dr. Rayher was inducted into the Alpha Omega International Honor Society, which is an honor reserved only for dental graduates who rank number one in their class.
After obtaining his degrees at UCSF, Dr. Rayher continued his training at the UCSF Medical Center, the San Francisco General Hospital, and the San Francisco VA Hospital, where he learned firsthand from some of the most renowned doctors in the country. He earned a specialty certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery, which included formal training in general surgery, microneurosurgery, and anesthesia. Dr. Rayher is licensed to practice both dentistry and medicine. He also holds California state Specialty Permits in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Anesthesia. Dr. Rayher has been faculty member at both the VA Hospital in Palo Alto and at UCSF Dental School.
Currently, Dr. Rayher maintains a solo private practice at Union Square Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in downtown San Francisco. With his expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery, medicine, and anesthesia, Dr. Rayher has a special interest in helping patients with dental phobias or anxiety; patients who require the removal of impacted, diseased, painful, or infected teeth; patients requiring jaw reconstruction with bone grafting; and patients who need to have their natural teeth replaced with dental implants.
