Dr. Donna Cooper was born in Taiwan, moved to the U.S. when she was two and was raised in Orange County. She attended the University of California at Riverside for her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, where she maintained a position on the Dean’s honor list. She pursued her doctoral degree in optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating cum laude. Her work experiences include caring for patients at the Veteran’s Hospital in Los Angeles and the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. In addition, Dr. Cooper worked at the Center for the Partially Sighted, performing low vision examinations to the visually impaired. Narbae Avedian, O.D. of VeyeP is a native Californian who cares deeply about the eye health of Los Angeles’ Studio City community. Dr. Avedian has been interested in the medical field since college at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology with honors in 2007.

Dr. Avedian completed his doctoral training in optometry at the Western University of Health Sciences in southern California, where he placed in the top 10% of his class. For four straight years, he earned Beta Sigma Kappa honors and dean’s list recognition.

During his schooling, Dr. Avedian fine-tuned his eye care knowledge with internships at a neuro-rehabilitation office in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; an Army hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia; two Veterans Affairs facilities in New Jersey; and a prestigious ophthalmology office in the Los Angeles area. Dr Jessica Shoumer is a glaucoma-certified therapeutic optometrist.    She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Cum Laude honors with a degree in Psychobiology. She then attended the Southern California College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr Shoumer has over 15 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases, dry eyes, LASIK consultations and contact lenses. She was born and raised in Southern California. She speaks English, Farsi, and Optometric Spanish.  

On her time off, Dr Shoumer enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband and three boys.

Dr. Claudia Younany was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her Bachelor in Biology from California State University, Northridge and continued to pursue her Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Science’s College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. Her clinical training was emphasized in specialty contact lenses and management of ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eye syndrome. With the optometry field evolving, Dr. Younany is continuously learning about the newest techniques and technology to give her patients the best care. Being a lifelong resident of LA, she believes in the importance of establishing a relationship with patients and looks forward to providing the community with quality eye care.

When Dr. Younany isn’t seeing patients, she enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants and spending time with her family.

Dr. Parisa Jalalat is a board-certified optometrist in Los Angeles, CA. She takes an integrative approach to eye care, focused on the individual needs of each patient. Dr. Parisa grew up in Houston, Texas, and received her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Texas in Austin. She enjoys giving back to the community and has provided voluntary eye care overseas in an underserved demographic in the Dominican Republic.

Due to Dr. Parisa’s special interest in advocating for healthy and safe eye cosmetics and beauty practices, she has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, POPSUGAR., and Well + Good. Dr. Benosa received her doctorate in optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 2013. During optometry school, she served as secretary of her class for three years and Vice President of the honors fraternity Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Benosa completed externships at Hoopes Vision in Utah, Veteran's Affairs Sierra Vista Community Based Outpatient Clinic, and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

After optometry school, Dr. Benosa furthered her education with a one year residency in Ocular Disease at the Braverman Eye Center in Florida. There she gained extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, managing ocular disease, and participating in refractive surgery co-management. 

Since residency, Dr. Benosa has returned to her hometown of Valencia. Dr. Benosa strives to use her experience, knowledge, and commitment to lifelong learning to deliver comprehensive eyecare for all patients. She focuses on preventative care like detecting disease in early stages and is glaucoma certified. Dr. Benosa enjoys working with children to identify vision problems early and offer intervention for amblyopia, strabismus, binocular vision conditions, and myopia management. Dr. Benosa also has an interest in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus as well as post-surgical or irregular corneas and has over 10 years experience of fitting soft, gas permeable and scleral lenses.
