Carl Garbus, OD, is a seasoned neuro-optometric rehabilitation specialist who provides vision therapies and rehabilitative services to adults and children in Valencia, California. As part of the team at Family Vision Care Optometry, a part of the DeyeNAMICS Alliance, Dr. Garbus is dedicated to offering preventive care and the highest-quality treatments available.
Dr. Garbus graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry in 1980. He opened two private practices in Valencia, Family Vision Care Optometry and Family Vision Care Optometry Neuro Vision Rehabilitation. Currently, the practices emphasize care for children and adults with vision deficits from traumatic brain injury, stroke, and developmental and learning problems.
Dr. Garbus has hospital privileges and consults at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, and Henry Mayo Hospital in Santa Clarita. Dr. Benosa received her doctorate in optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 2013. During optometry school, she served as secretary of her class for three years and Vice President of the honors fraternity Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Benosa completed externships at Hoopes Vision in Utah, Veteran's Affairs Sierra Vista Community Based Outpatient Clinic, and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
After optometry school, Dr. Benosa furthered her education with a one year residency in Ocular Disease at the Braverman Eye Center in Florida. There she gained extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, managing ocular disease, and participating in refractive surgery co-management.
Since residency, Dr. Benosa has returned to her hometown of Valencia. Dr. Benosa strives to use her experience, knowledge, and commitment to lifelong learning to deliver comprehensive eyecare for all patients. Dr. Brandon Chuang grew up in Irvine, CA before attending University of California San Diego. He graduated with a BS in Biology in 2013. He then earned his Doctorate of Optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA in 2018.
After graduation, he pursued a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital of Brockton, Massachusetts. At his residency, he worked closely with world renowned ophthalmologists, comanaging glaucoma, dry eye, uveitis, cataracts, and retinal diseases like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. After finishing residency, Dr. Chuang returned to his alma mater as a professor, where he worked as faculty training future optometrists for 2 years before returning to Orange County.
Dr. Chuang has been described as a compassionate eyecare provider who is committed to high quality patient care. His specialty is glaucoma, but he considers himself a jack of all trades given his various clinical experiences. He also enjoys treating dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and fitting contact lenses. Dr. Ho graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton. Arthur Astorino, Jr., MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing since 1988. He provides exceptional eye care to his patients at Astorino & Associates Eye Center in Newport Beach, California, in areas like general ophthalmology, advanced cataract care, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Astorino earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He’s currently an associate clinical professor of ophthalmology at UCLA. Dr. Astorino is also a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and a fellow of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Judd M. Cahoon, MD, PhD joins Astorino and Associates Eye Center from UCLA where he trained as an ophthalmology resident at the prestigious Stein Eye Institute. He is excited to build his practice in Newport Beach and brings new techniques to the clinic, such as minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) and extensive experience treating medical retinal disease.
Prior to training at UCLA, Dr. Cahoon obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Utah on a Presidential Scholarship, honoring in Exercise and Sports Science and minoring in Chinese.
Dr. Cahoon completed the combined MD/PhD program at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He earned his PhD in Neuroscience studying the underlying mechanisms of and developing a novel treatment for diabetic eye disease. Dr. Cahoon has published multiple scientific papers and presented at both national and international meetings for which he has received numerous awards, including the Outstanding Young Investigator Award and the MIT Outstanding Poster Award. In addition to his basic science work on diabetic retinopathy, he has also published a series of papers on the dynamics of the machines used for cataract surgery.
During his time as a resident at UCLA, Dr. Cahoon was awarded the Medical Student Teaching Award and the Beast Bowler Award. He is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and is proficient in Spanish. Dr. Cahoon played rugby in high school and college and now enjoys playing the guitar for his wife and four children.

Dr. Barsegian is a board-certified ophthalmologist who is passionate about providing personalized, detail-oriented care for general ophthalmology and glaucoma patients. Interested in medicine from a young age, Dr. Barsegian was accepted into the prestigious Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education, an accelerated 7 year BS/MD program in New York City that selects the top students in NYC who exhibit academic excellence. She received her medical degree from State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center. During medical school, she was inducted into the selective Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honors Society and was awarded the prestigious Mack Lipkin Broader Horizons Fellowship, a research fellowship and grant that allowed her to pursue cardiac stem cell research in the world-renowned Hôpital Saint Louis in Paris, France.
