Dr. Anand Bhatt is a leading expert in Orange County in the fields of cataract and glaucoma surgery. Prior to his decision to enter private practice, Dr. Bhatt was full-time ophthalmology faculty at the UC Irvine Gavin Herbert Eye Institute and the Veteran’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA. While at UC Irvine, Dr. Bhatt was involved in the cataract and glaucoma surgery training of more than 30 fellow ophthalmologists, including 7 other glaucoma specialists, many of whom practice locally and was recognized by his trainees for his excellence in surgical education with a teaching award.

Dr. Bhatt graduated as valedictorian of his International Baccalaureate High School in Palm Harbor, FL, and was then admitted into a direct 6-year BS/MD program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. During his time in medical school, he discovered his passion to save and restore vision, so he pursued a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. While in residency he was amongst the first surgeons in the U.S. to use astigmatic and multifocal lenses for vision correction with cataract surgery.

Dr. Bhatt subsequently completed a fellowship in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma at UC Irvine. After his fellowship training, he was recruited to remain on faculty at UC Irvine where he helped to preserve and restore vision in some of the most difficult surgical cataract and glaucoma cases and gained extensive experience in all varieties of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.

She enjoys giving back to the community and has provided voluntary eye care overseas in an underserved demographic in the Dominican Republic.

Due to Dr. Parisa’s special interest in advocating for healthy and safe eye cosmetics and beauty practices, she has been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, POPSUGAR., and Well + Good. Dr Jessica Shoumer is a glaucoma-certified therapeutic optometrist.    She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Cum Laude honors with a degree in Psychobiology. She then attended the Southern California College of Optometry where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr Shoumer has over 15 years of experience in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases, dry eyes, LASIK consultations and contact lenses. She was born and raised in Southern California. She speaks English, Farsi, and Optometric Spanish.  

On her time off, Dr Shoumer enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband and three boys.  

Dr. Claudia Younany was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She received her Bachelor in Biology from California State University, Northridge and continued to pursue her Doctorate of Optometry from Western University of Health Science’s College of Optometry, where she graduated with honors. Her clinical training was emphasized in specialty contact lenses and management of ocular diseases, including diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma and dry eye syndrome. With the optometry field evolving, Dr. Younany is continuously learning about the newest techniques and technology to give her patients the best care. Being a lifelong resident of LA, she believes in the importance of establishing a relationship with patients and looks forward to providing the community with quality eye care.

Dr. Kambiz Silani is the chief clinical director of Beverly Hills Optometry. In 2013, he proudly founded their Advanced Dry Eye Center in Beverly Hills, CA. Dr. Donna Cooper was born in Taiwan, moved to the U.S. when she was two and was raised in Orange County. She attended the University of California at Riverside for her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences, where she maintained a position on the Dean’s honor list. She pursued her doctoral degree in optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry, graduating cum laude. Her work experiences include caring for patients at the Veteran’s Hospital in Los Angeles and the Pearl Harbor naval base in Hawaii. In addition, Dr. Cooper worked at the Center for the Partially Sighted, performing low vision examinations to the visually impaired. Her care has also extended to numerous school districts to perform vision screenings, as well as seeing patients at the JWCH clinic located on Skid Row in Los Angeles. Dr. Cooper is glaucoma certified and manages various eye conditions. 

In her leisure time, she likes to read, bake, and cook. She enjoys spending time with her husband and sons. One of her favorite past times is traveling and New Zealand is her favorite place thus far. A quirky fact is that she is Celine Dion’s biggest fan.

Narbae Avedian, O.D. of VeyeP is a native Californian who cares deeply about the eye health of Los Angeles’ Studio City community. Dr. Avedian has been interested in the medical field since college at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology with honors in 2007.

Dr. Avedian completed his doctoral training in optometry at the Western University of Health Sciences in southern California, where he placed in the top 10% of his class. For four straight years, he earned Beta Sigma Kappa honors and dean’s list recognition.

During his schooling, Dr. Avedian fine-tuned his eye care knowledge with internships at a neuro-rehabilitation office in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; an Army hospital in Fort Belvoir, Virginia; two Veterans Affairs facilities in New Jersey; and a prestigious ophthalmology office in the Los Angeles area. Dr. Brandon Chuang grew up in Irvine, CA before attending University of California San Diego. He graduated with a BS in Biology in 2013. He then earned his Doctorate of Optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA in 2018.

After graduation, he pursued a residency in ocular disease and primary care at the Veteran’s Affairs Hospital of Brockton, Massachusetts. At his residency, he worked closely with world renowned ophthalmologists, comanaging glaucoma, dry eye, uveitis, cataracts, and retinal diseases like macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. After finishing residency, Dr. Chuang returned to his alma mater as a professor, where he worked as faculty training future optometrists for 2 years before returning to Orange County.

Dr. Chuang has been described as a compassionate eyecare provider who is committed to high quality patient care. His specialty is glaucoma, but he considers himself a jack of all trades given his various clinical experiences. He also enjoys treating dry eye, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and fitting contact lenses. Dr. Hawaa Ali, OD, is a highly skilled and experienced optometrist at the OC Optometry Group in Newport Beach, California.
