After graduating from Fudan, she went on to obtain a master’s degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City. She then obtained her optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Matthews earned his degree from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Optometry. He owned and worked as the senior optometrist at two separate practices in San Francisco and Alameda, California before selling both practices and retiring to Mazatlan, Mexico. Additionally, since 1991, Dr. Matthews has volunteered as a staff optometrist for the Hospital del la Familia in Guatemala.
Upon coming out of retirement, Dr. Matthews relocated to San Diego where he assumed ownership of Midway Optometry in Point Loma, California.
Dr. Matthews brings his many years of expertise to the practice and strives to provide patients of all ages with the latest technologies, sophisticated instrumentation, and fashionable prescription eyewear. In his free time, Dr. Matthews enjoys boating, fishing, and dancing the Argentine tango with his wife, Ivy.
