Dr. Piehota is a former member of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, in which he was deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a combat medic. During his time in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Dr. Piehota conducted over 300 combat missions.

Upon returning home, Dr. Piehota completed his undergraduate education with honors at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Rachel Ellyn, MD, is a board-certified comprehensive opthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in surgical glaucoma and cataracts at Lowcountry Eye Specialists, located in Ladson, South Carolina. She joined the Lowcountry Eye Specialists team in August of 2023. 

Dr. Ellyn is skilled in the latest microinvasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), traditional glaucoma surgery, and astigmatism-correcting and advanced technology intraocular lens implants. A pivotal experience with a family friend suffering from advanced macular degeneration inspired him to pursue optometry. In 1977, Dr. Fong graduated with his Doctor of Optometry from Salus University, formerly Pennsylvania College of Optometry, in Elkins Park. He then completed a post-doctoral residency at the Gesell Institute. 

Dr. Fong holds licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and California and was honored with the AM Skeffington Award in 1978. Since relocating to Sacramento in 1979, Dr. Fong has been a charter member of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA) and has served in various leadership roles.

Dr. Benosa received her doctorate in optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, California in 2013. During optometry school, she served as secretary of her class for three years and Vice President of the honors fraternity Beta Sigma Kappa and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. Dr. Benosa completed externships at Hoopes Vision in Utah, Veteran's Affairs Sierra Vista Community Based Outpatient Clinic, and the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.

After optometry school, Dr. Benosa furthered her education with a one year residency in Ocular Disease at the Braverman Eye Center in Florida. There she gained extensive experience in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, managing ocular disease, and participating in refractive surgery co-management. 

Since residency, Dr. Benosa has returned to her hometown of Valencia. Growing up in southeast Iowa, he earned his Bachelor of Science from Quincy University in Illinois in 1999, where he majored in biology and minored in chemistry. He was the founding chairman of the Low Vision Section of the American Optometric Association and the inaugural president of NORA. Recently, he provided his expertise to Walter Reed Hospital.
