Dr. Chiu earned his medical degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He stayed in Illinois to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University of Chicago. There, his dedication and excellence in the program were recognized. He served as chief resident before moving to New York for his fellowship. He completed his fellowship training in cornea and external eye disease at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Chiu holds memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the Cornea Society.
