Jessica Taff, MD, is a triple board-certified Hematologist, Medical Oncologist, and Internist.  Through her leadership role at Coastal Hematology & Oncology Center, Dr. Taff is honored to serve the communities of Toms River and Forked River, New Jersey, where she was born and raised. 

Education has always played a central role in Dr. Taff’s life. She earned her undergraduate and medical degrees at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Taff went on to complete her residency at New York University Langone Medical Center in New York City, where she was selected to serve as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine. Humaira Quraishi, ND, MS, is a naturopathic doctor serving patients at her practice in Fort Lee, New Jersey. She aims to inspire, empower, educate, and treat her patients’ health issues.

Born in Pakistan, Dr. Quraishi immigrated to the United States with her parents when she was 4 years old. She has traveled to Pakistan throughout her life to visit family, and during that time, she gained an awareness of health and wellness in both countries. There were differences but also similarities, such as doctors quickly seeing patients without proper care or guidance into their lifestyle as well as the lack of education about illnesses.

Dr. Quraishi graduated with her Bachelor of Science in biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University. During her time in Bridgeport, Dr. Quraishi interned at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia and worked with many naturopathic physicians in the fields of kidney disease, food allergy, gastroenterology, and general health. She is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and New Jersey Association of Naturopathic Physicians.

Harman P. Kaur, MD is a Board-Certified Physician who practices Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology at Belt Line Medical Clinic for patients in Mesquite, Garland, Forney, Sunnyvale, and the surrounding areas in the DFW Metroplex. Her Fellowship Training in Oncology was at the nationally - acclaimed Wilmot Cancer Institute in Rochester, NY. This experienced was followed with a Faculty Position at Roswell Park Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY before moving to the Dallas area with her family. She has also co-authored various book chapters in medical textbooks which are used in teaching programs across the country.

Dr. Kaur is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. In her free time, Dr. Kaur enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering time at the local Sikh Temple where she focuses on her faith, Sikhism. 

Dr. Stebel has been specializing in breast cancer for over 25 years. She is well known as a public speaker in breast cancer diagnostic and treatment. Breast cancer does not just affect the patient. Maria Scouros, MD, founded the Houston Cancer Institute, PA, which has three locations in Houston, in 1984. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Oncology, with an international reputation for practicing state-of-the-art medicine with a commitment to excellence. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society, and MD Anderson Alumni. 

Dr. Scouros received her training in medical oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, after completing her medical training at the Royal Free Hospital Medical School in London, UK and her internal medicine training at Evangelismos Hospital, Athens, Greece. 

She also served on the faculty of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center before founding the Houston Cancer Institute, PA in West Houston. She is on the staff of multiple hospitals in Houston where she  provides consultation services. 

Dr. Scouros has brought new advances in cancer therapy to the Houston community she serves. Kirk E. Kanady, MD, is the founder and medical director of Greater Houston Radiation Oncology with two offices in Houston, Texas, and another in Huntsville, Texas. Board-certified in therapeutic radiation oncology, Dr. Kanady has extensive experience with the latest techniques for treating cancer, with a particular emphasis on prostate cancer. 

Dr. Kanady earned his medical degree from the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency in radiation oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital, a teaching hospital of Harvard University, in Boston, Massachusetts, where he also served as a clinical fellow in radiation oncology.

Dr. Chen completed both his undergraduate and medical degree at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He later performed his general surgery residency and critical care fellowship at the University of Michigan before moving to Los Angeles and completing a surgical oncology fellowship at the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica, California.

Dr. Chen then joined the City of Hope, serving as the associate director of the Surgical Oncology Training Program. During his tenure there, Dr. Chen worked to train the next generation of surgical oncologists and served as the director of surgical oncology research. Dr. Chen also served as an associate professor of surgery.

Chirag Shah, MD, is a medical oncology and hematology specialist at Advanced Cancer Care of New Jersey, PC. Dr. Shah provides personalized, state-of-the-art cancer care to residents in Toms River, New Jersey. 

Dr. Shah attended M. P. Shah Medical College in Gujarat, India, completing his medical degree in 1992. He then pursued post-graduate training in internal medicine at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he served as chief resident. 

After completing his residency, he joined an oncology and hematology fellowship program at the State University of New York (SUNY)’s Upstate Medical University and later joined the faculty as an assistant professor.

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Nagaiah received his medical degree from MGR Medical University in India and has been in practice for more than 20 years. His residency and internship were completed at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and he completed a fellowship at West Virginia University. He earned a Masters in Clinical Research from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston. Dr. Nagaiah has expertise in treating lymphoma, lung cancer, and breast cancer, among other conditions.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that being an oncologist is a privilege that is not to be taken lightly. I strive to provide evidence-based care that is appropriate to my patients’ particular problem, recognizing and respecting individual patient’s wishes. I take a multidisciplinary approach to care, including alternative therapies that have been shown to be effective.

Melissa Aswad is a twice-graduate of Northern Arizona University with both her Bachelor of Science (BS, 2014) and Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS, 2021).  Prior to starting her career as a physician assistant, Melissa worked as a medical laboratory scientist after completing her training at the Cleveland Clinic.  She worked in a hospital laboratory for several years performing complex testing but missed interacting directly with patients.  This led her to return to school and pursuing a career as a physician assistant.  She has experienced caregiving for a loved one with cancer and enjoys assisting her patients and their families in navigating a new diagnosis.  She particularly enjoys assisting patients in living with metastatic cancer and helping them maximize their life outside of the oncology office.  When she is not working Melissa enjoys hiking, backpacking, attending live music, reading, and spending time with her husband and cat.
