Dr. Tassone is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and by the American Board of Integrative Medicine. He holds a medical degree, in addition to a PhD in mind-body medicine. Dr. Tassone is a highly regarded patient advocate. His work includes studies and publications on spirituality in medical care, whole foods to heal the human body, and integrative medicine. Dr. Tassone is an instructor for medical residents and students at the University of Arizona and the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dana recently joined River Place OB/GYN as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.She comes to us with 15 years of women’s health experience, previously working as a labor and delivery nurse supervisor with Drs Shepherd and Thoppil.She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers!) and did her Masters of Nursing at South Alabama.
Dana believes that a balanced and holistic approach to healthcare is important in maintaining wellness.While she offers care for women across the lifespan, she has a particular interest in the healthcare needs of teenagers as well as sexual wellness and low libido concerns for all women.
In her spare time she loves hiking, football and spending time with her son Henry and daughter Lauren.
Dr. Jonathan Pepper brings with him a passion for women’s health and is excited to join Pflugerville/River Place OB/GYN. He gladly sees patients of all ages and is experienced with a diverse range of pathology. In addition to clinical obstetrics and gynecology services, he provides minimally invasive gynecologic surgical services including sterilization procedures, uterine cavity procedures, myomectomies, hysterectomies, and other adnexal surgery.
Originally from the greater New Orleans area, he carries a vibrant energy and an inviting demeanor. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Seeking an opportunity to impact others more directly, he pursued a career in medicine and received his MD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He subsequently completed his OB/GYN training at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in McAllen, Texas. His love for Texas blossomed during his time in residency, which ultimately drew him to this great city of Austin.
Influenced by strong women throughout his life, Dr. Pepper gravitated toward the field of obstetrics and gynecology. He holds a collaborative approach to care and works to create customized plans to ensure that his patients’ needs are met. As part of his goal to improve healthcare outcomes, he stays current with OB/GYN advancements and regularly incorporates them into his practice. He strives to eliminate the healthcare inequities women have traditionally faced in medicine and is a firm women’s health advocate. He works diligently to ensure that each patient receives compassionate care with the dignity and respect they each deserve.
Dr. Pepper is an engaging physician who truly cares about his patients; someone who takes the time to ensure that each one of their needs are met. A former collegiate powerlifter, he aims to stay in shape and spends a great deal of his off-time training in the gym. He is a huge supporter of the Austin Gilgronis and the Austin FC! He is a down to Earth individual who embraces new challenges, and rarely turns down the opportunity for a new adventure. He embraces all that Austin has to offer and is looking to become an active member of the community.
Mahta Rouhani, MD, is a caring and compassionate women’s health practitioner who believes strongly that every woman deserves access to top-quality care. She started with Ob North and is proud to join the Pflugerville/River Place Ob-Gyn team.
Education has always been a guiding force in Dr. Rouhani’s life. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Texas (UT) in Austin. She then earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) at Galveston before completing her residency at Houston Methodist Obstetrics and Gynecology in Texas.
Dr. Rouhani takes the time to get to know every woman in her care. She understands that great wellness encompasses not just physical health but also the mental, emotional, and spiritual elements of a woman’s life.
