I graduated from the Midwifery Program at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. Prior to becoming a midwife, I was an Ob/Gyn sonographer. Upon graduation from Downstate, I received multiple awards for dedication and perseverance to the Midwifery Program. I worked for a very busy private Ob Gyn practice in the last three years and will continue to be determined and dedicated to keeping the well-being of women, their babies and family members foremost in my mind.
Dr. Kakossian graduated Medical School with Honors and Distinction in 1991. She completed an exchange fellowship program at Columbia University, NY in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She graduated as Chief resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Lutheran Medical Center, NY.
Dr. Kakossian has done extensive research in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic Surgery for different gynecologic conditions and produced many publications in this field. She was trained by and operated with the professor and founder of Laparoscopic Surgery Dr. H. Reich at Columbia University, NY.
