Jigish Sheth, DO, FACOG is a Board Certified OB/GYN at Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell and Suwanee, Georgia. He is a comprehensive care physician, caring for women during pregnancy and well beyond.
Our Nile team is happy to have such a highly skilled gynecologic surgeon on the team, particularly with minimally invasive procedures such as DiVinci robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and hysteroscopic procedures. While Dr. Sheth is extremely intelligent, he also has a dry sense of humor that keeps both the staff and patients smiling.
Originally from Buffalo, Dr. Sheth received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, NY. He then completed his residency at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY, earning the title of Chief resident prior to graduation.
Prior to living in New York, Dr. Sheth completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in St. Louis. He graduated with honors with a BA in biology and French plus a minor in biomedical physics.
Dr. Sheth is no stranger to the midwifery model of care. He spent several years in Atlanta where he worked closely with midwives to provide compassionate women’s care to area residents. This makes him a great fit for our family. He understands how doctors and midwives work together offering the most comprehensive care possible.
When not at the hospital or office, Dr. Sheth enjoys spending time outside with his wife and two children. He describes himself as a foodie and loves sports.
Board-certified OB/GYN Hughan Frederick, MD, FACOG, is the founder of Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell and Suwanee, Georgia.
Practicing for nearly 20 years, Dr. Frederick has had the experience of helping thousands of women from childbirth through menopause and everything in between. Trained in the fields of obstetrics, gynecology, bio-identical hormones, and bariatrics, he has the unique expertise to help women through life’s many stages.
While he manages several high-risk pregnancies, Dr. Frederick maintains a low C-section rate compared to the national average. He has performed hundreds of gynecological surgeries including hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and routine OB/GYN examinations.
Since establishing Nile Women’s Health Care in 2006, Dr. Frederick’s practice has grown to be among the largest women’s care practices serving the Alpharetta and Roswell areas. The reason North Fulton women choose Nile Women’s Health Care is not its size, however, but rather the personal attention and emphasis on patient participation in their own holistic care.
Known for his friendly bedside manner, Dr. Frederick is most popular for his naturalistic approach to women’s health. Pills and surgery are given as final options, not the first suggestion. His philosophy has garnered him many accolades including being voted one of the best doctors in Roswell and Alpharetta, Georgia.
In addition to Nile Women’s Health Care, he serves as the medical director for Glow Anti-Aging Center and Medical Spa. For the privacy and convenience of several clients, he offers novel therapies for vaginal atrophy, urinary leakage, and vaginal dryness in this full-service, luxury space.
Dr. Frederick currently serves as Chairman of Women’s and Children’s Services at North Fulton Hospital. He is board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a member of the American Medical Association and the National Medical Association. He is also active in the community, a supporter of the March of Dimes, and is a member of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He is married and has two sons and one daughter.
Urania Davis, DO, FACOOG is a Board Certified OB/GYN at Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell and Suwanee, Georgia. She specializes in pre-conception counseling and helping women prepare themselves for successful pregnancies.
Dr. Davis is focused on caring for the whole person, not just the symptoms that may have brought them to see her. It’s the part she enjoys most about being a physician. In addition, Dr. Davis has developed a reputation in the office for being extremely thorough with her patients, has a relatable personality, and is easy to talk to.
Originally from Dominica and raised in St. Croix, Dr. Davis received both a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a Master of Biomedical Science from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Georgia. She then completed her residency in Miami, Florida, where she served as the chief administrative resident.
Dr. Davis brings extensive knowledge in several areas, including gynecologic robotic surgery, facilitating VBACs, and experience working with birth center patients in Florida. This makes her a great fit for the Nile Women’s Health Care family. Dr. Davis is board eligible with the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Considered among the top in her field, she garnered a podium finish with a presentation to the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association on her Zika screening research. Dr. Davis also taught anatomy, and physiology, microbiology, and biology as an adjunct professor for both Gwinnett Technical College and Georgia Perimeter College.
When not at the hospital or office, Dr. Davis mentors young women through her church and has completed a mission trip to Kenya. She enjoys any activity that brings her extended family and friends together, going on vacations, plus spending time with her husband and three children.
Heather Laflam, CNM, is a certified nurse-midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner at Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell, Georgia.
Heather’s goal as a certified-nurse midwife is to make sure no woman has to experience the type of traumatic experience that she went through with the birth of her second child. She wants to help others avoid feeling the way she did. It’s what guided her pursuit to become a midwife.
Originally from Danielsville, GA, Heather attended the Medical College of GA for her bachelors in nursing where she decided she would dedicate her career to helping mothers and babies. After working as a highly-motivated registered nurse in labor and delivery for over a decade she went back to Georgia College and State University for her masters to become a certified nurse midwife.
Now, as an official member of the Nile Women’s Health Care family, Heather will be providing comprehensive care to gynecological, obstetrical, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum clients. Heather believes, as a society, we need to take better care of our women immediately following the birth of their children. As a result, she focuses on postpartum depression with research and education. As an Alpharetta/Roswell midwife, Heather will deliver at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital.
Heather and her family still call their quaint town home. As a self-described hard worker, she enjoys sewing and embroidering baby items when not at work.
From the young woman delivering her first baby to the middle-aged woman dealing with the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause, having an OB/GYN who understands the complexity of women’s health is fundamental for healthy living. Dr. Lee provides care for a variety of women’s needs, including temporary and permanent contraceptive options and gynecologic surgeries, and preventive OB/GYN services, such as pap smears and sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing.

Dr. Lee graduated from Korea University School of Medicine and received postdoctoral training in Seoul, South Korea, at Samsung Medical Center. He’s practiced at a variety of prestigious hospitals, such as Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Sloan-Kettering Memorial Hospital, and New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Stephanie Gordon, MD, is the founder of The Women's Center, PC, located in Stockbridge and Conyers, Georgia. Dr. Gordon is double-board certified in general OB/GYN and urogynecology. She founded Women's Center, PC in 2003 as a gynecology and surgery practice dedicated to providing individualized care for women.
Dr. Gordon is one of the few true Atlanta-natives. She was born at Georgia Baptist Hospital while her mother finished nursing school there. She graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in genetics and molecular biology. She then worked at a private practice as an OB/GYN in Stockbridge before starting The Women's Center, PC in Conyers, Georgia. The practice quickly grew to expand to a Henry County office in Stockbridge. The practice includes five practitioners to help fulfill Dr. Gordon’s vision of comprehensive care for women.
Dr. Gordon was one of the first physicians in the nation to become board certified in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, also known as urogynecology, in 2013. She is a proctor to other physicians who wish to learn incontinence and pelvic prolapse procedures. She has also been voted "Top Doc" in Henry County's H Magazine multiple times.
Dr. Gordon offers a complete array of services to her patients, and her special focus is on the treatment of heavy periods, incontinence, and minimally invasive surgeries. She sees patients in both offices and operates at Piedmont Henry Hospital and Rockdale Medical Center.
When asked why she went into gynecology, Dr. Gordon replies, "It is a wonderful field of medicine to practice. I get to see my patients on a reoccurring basis so I really get to know them and their families. Together, we can quickly identify their concerns and make a plan – together. I always include my patients in the decision-making process. Many of my patients’ problems can be resolved or improved in a short time frame. They are happy to get better and get on with their busy lives!"
Dr. Gordon lives in McDonough, Georgia, with her husband, David, and her three daughters, who keep her life busy. She loves to travel to warm places, read voraciously, and never improves her tennis game.
Trent Rice, MD, is a fellowship-trained urogynecologist who joined the team at The Women's Center, PC, located in Stockbridge and Conyers, Georgia, in 2014. A fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, Dr. Rice specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of female pelvic floor disorders, such as pelvic organ prolapse, urinary/fecal incontinence, and mesh complications. He offers a wide array of conservative and surgical treatment options to his patients and is experienced both in traditional and minimally invasive surgical repairs.

He then attended the Medical College of Georgia and subsequently moved to New York City for his general OB/GYN residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. Most recently, he attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he completed his fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery (urogynecology). His fellowship training was unique in that it was a combined urogynecology and female urology program, one of the few in the nation. Dr. Rice is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists and has had several research publications published in his field’s leading journals.
When asked why he became a urogynecologist, he states the specialty involves very functional surgery with a large quality of life impact. Simply put, it allows him to change the lives of women who are fearful of social embarrassment from their pelvic floor disorders and give them a life back.
Dr. Rice is happy to have come full circle and made it back to the north Georgia area. Outside of practicing medicine, he has special interests in music. He was a member of a local Athens rock band for many years and continues to enjoy composing and recording music. Recently he had an original song, “Hickory Hollow,” played on Nashville radio. He currently resides in Decatur, Georgia, and regularly performs at local music venues. His wife, Sarah, is also a doctor. She works at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital as a pediatric emergency medicine physician. They have a daughter, Addison, who inspires them daily and is just plain sweet and happy.

While visiting a friend who had recently returned home from New Mexico, Ellen felt the call of midwifery for the first time as a young woman entering the adult world around forty years ago. This friend had practiced Midwifery with Traditional Hispanic midwives, the Curandera-parteras. These traditional Midwives played a vital role in Ellen’s understanding of the underserved mothers and babies of Northern New Mexico. Her heart thrilled as she listened to the stories of the mothers bringing life into the world into the sacred hands of Curandera-parteras who served this underserved region for many years.
After much prayer and contemplation Ellen decided to follow the path of Midwifery through Nursing. She lived and was raised in Nashville, Tennessee and completed her A.D. in nursing in 1988, followed by her BSN in 2009. Ellen went to work as a labor and delivery nurse at the old Metro General Hospital, which is now closed, formerly located on the Cumberland River. A team of Nurse-Midwives served the women at the Metro General, and again, Ellen heard the strong call of midwifery on her life.
Ellen worked as a labor and delivery, post-partum, normal newborn and high risk newborn nurse for over 25 years. During this time, she raised her own family and continued her education as her children obtained theirs.
In 2011 Ellen had the opportunity to return to school, and now, after many years of working as a RN and raising her family, the call of Midwifery came to her again. She was able to enter Frontier School of Nurse-Midwifery and Family Nursing, founded by Mary Breckenridge. Ellen earned her MSN from The Frontier School of Nurse Midwifery in 2014 and went on to become a certified nurse midwife, fulfilling this lifelong dream and call.
Ellen again remembered the night with her friend years ago. The stories of birthing mothers, under the vast New Mexico desert sky, rich, misty, painfully blue and purple and the love, skill, dedication and healing of the Curandera-parteras. She remembered the first call within her spirit to a path of Midwifery. Ellen has a deep belief that all birth is a sacred, spiritual experience for each mother and family and should be treated with respect and reverence. She believes in Shared Decision Making, Informed Consent, and Partnering with women. She has a long history of working in a hospital setting but has also attended home births in the traditional setting.
Fun Fact: Ellen recalls that she was born in Marietta Ga and when she was a small child she has fun memories of her family calling her a “Georgia Peach.” Ellen is excited to return to Georgia, join the team at Providence Women’s Health Care and serve Georgia, where she was born.
“Ellen is such a sweet woman she was very kind and very knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable with her as well as my husband. We are so excited to be in the care of the staff at PWH!”
