Dr. Aras splits his time between seeing patients in the clinic, in a variety of dialysis centers throughout central New Jersey, and caring for critically ill patients in the ICU and local hospitals. Dr. Maniya founded Consultants in Kidney Diseases over 20 years ago to better serve patients with kidney diseases locally in Mercer County. He has pioneered innovations in preventive care, patient safety & quality of care.
With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Maniya is an expert in all forms of kidney diseases, including acute and chronic kidney diseases and hypertension. He is highly skilled in all modes of dialysis and kidney transplant care. He is a master at combining his vast knowledge and expertise with compassion. His philosophy is to treat the patient as a whole, not only the kidneys.
He completed his Nephrology and Critical Care training at Columbia University in New York and is one of the few triple board-certified physicians in the United States.
Dr. Maniya is a prestigious Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), a distinction reserved for physician-leaders and educators who are at the forefront of their profession and considered cutting-edge in their field.
He currently serves as Chief of Nephrology at St. Francis Medical Center and is involved in teaching medical residents. He also serves as Medical Director of the DaVita Hamilton and DaVita Trenton Dialysis Centers, and he is proud of the fact that under his leadership the center achieved Medicare's highest 5-star ranking for quality of patient care.
Dr. Maniya is also a leader within New Jersey and has served on the Board of NJ Health Care Quality Institute. He currently serves on the Board of St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.
He is the father of two beautiful kids and the husband of a primary care physician. During his spare time he unwinds by going on the treadmill and reading books on philosophy, cosmology and astrophysics.
