Dr. Krishna Raman is a senior partner of the Renal Clinic of Houston (RCH). He became a practicing Nephrologist at Renal Clinic of Houston in 2002. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at The University of Delhi in 1989. He then completed his residency in the State University of New York at Buffalo in Internal Medicine from 1993-1995. Emilian Cristea MD, is double board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine and founder of Kidney Health Specialists, located in Hollywood, Florida. His mission is to provide thoughtful, compassionate and comprehensive care to individuals living in and around Broward County.
Dr. Cristea earned his Doctor of Medicine degree and completed his first residency at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania in 2007. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Cristea completed a second residency in Internal Medicine at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, located in Royal Oak, Michigan. He then went on to complete a Nephrology fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida in 2019. During his fellowship he earned multiple awards including the Outstanding Fellow Award. Another noteworthy honor is his achievement of scoring in the 99th percentile on the Nephrology National Board Examination. Ghayyath Sultan, MD, is the Vice President and co-founder of Houston Kidney Specialists Center, which has four locations – two in Cypress and two in Houston, Texas. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both internal medicine and nephrology.
Dr. Sultan obtained his medical degree at the University of Tishreen and completed a 4-year residency program in internal medicine at the University of Damascus in Syria before moving to the United States. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. After residency, he joined Cleveland Clinic Foundation as an attending physician. During his time at Cleveland Clinic, he served as assistant professor of medicine at Cleveland Clinic Learner College of Medicine, where he was involved in teaching and supervising the residents of the internal medicine residency program. Ultimately, he pursued his dream of becoming a nephrologist and completed his nephrology fellowship at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he was honored with the outstanding graduating fellow award upon completing his fellowship in 2015 for his exemplary performance during his training.
Dr. Sultan’s passion for nephrology is demonstrated in the profound knowledge he has in managing the intricacies of kidney diseases and through his communications with staff, colleagues, and patients. He values the long-term bonds he builds with his patients and their families throughout their lives, emphasizing strategies and treatments that will keep them healthy. Kevin Griffiths, MD, is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University before earning his medical degree and masters in public health and health policy and administration at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Griffiths then completed his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship training at the same institution.
Currently, he is a partner at Metro Renal Associates in Washington, DC. Dr. Griffiths manages patients that have developed chronic kidney disease and have to perform in-center hemodialysis and specializes in treating kidney disease patients who prefer home dialysis. Additionally, he has experience treating renal transplant patients, difficult to control hypertension, as well as helping patients who suffer from renal stones, lupus, and polycystic kidney disease.
Dr. Griffiths is the medical director at Fresenius Kidney Care Southeast DC and Fresenius Kidney Care Southeast Washington. As the medical director for both facilities, he oversees the care and safety of over 160 dialysis patients.
As a leading voice in his field, Dr. Griffiths gives lectures and seminars on the benefits of home hemodialysis, and his clinical acumen has led to numerous awards. He’s also a fellow with the American Society of Nephrology.
