Currently I am licensed to practice massage in both Connecticut and New York, and licensed to practice acupuncture only in New York. I am working on taking one more exam that will get me licensed in Connecticut too, though that won't be until the end of the year.
My massage work is integrative, incorporating a lot of western biomedical techniques and knowledge with some eastern approaches to healing. If any potential patient is curious to learn more they can always email or call me.
Easeful body, peaceful mind, useful life" are the words that Matt strives to embody. He traces his roots in the healing arts back to his time at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York (IYINY), training as a Hatha yoga teacher and living as a resident of the institute's ashram. These years were a period of growth and personal enrichment, and instilled in him the value of self inquiry, community, and cultivating a good relationship with the body, mind, and spirit.
He eventually moved on from IYINY to pursue an education in massage therapy, studying at the Finger Lakes School of Massage. He has also trained in shiatsu massage with Ohashiatsu® and Thai yoga massage with Hudson Valley Thai Massage. Matt has been practicing since 2017, incorporating various modalities to offer bodywork that integrates both western and eastern approaches to healing.
Matt is also a graduate of the Acupuncture Institute at the University of Bridgeport, graduating summa cum laude with an M.S in Acupuncture. He is excited to start offering acupuncture and Chinese medicine in a therapeutic setting, customizing sessions that take into account the dynamic ecosystem of each individual.
