I have dedicated my life to serving others. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, I served in the U. S. Navy. I graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy cum laude in 2001. After graduation, I commissioned as a Naval Officer and attended flight training. I served 8 years on active duty as an aircraft navigator, instructor, and mission commander. I graduated with my Master's in Physician Assistant studies from the University of South Alabama in 2011. I credit my life experiences with providing me the skills to pay attention to detail, manage multiple sources of information, and always have the end goal in sight. My patients describe me as thorough, understanding, a great listener, and someone who truly cares about them. I am passionate about being a PA and empowering patients to help them make informed decisions about their health. I look forward to providing you the quality health care that you need and deserve.
Micaella Kantor, MD, is a gastroenterologist at Florida Digestive Specialists, and is also board certified in internal medicine. She treats a broad range of gastrointestinal disorders, such as GERD, gastritis, liver disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, and colon cancer prevention. She performs screening and diagnostic colonoscopies and endoscopies. She is known for her compassion and patient-centered care and believes patient education regarding their condition is very important. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, allowing her to create a comfortable environment to discuss concerns and develop individualized treatment plans.
Dr. Kantor received her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami in psychology and biology prior to receiving her medical degree at UCIMED in Costa Rica. She completed her internal medicine residency at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, FL, followed by a gastroenterology fellowship at Palm Spring Larkin Community Hospital in Miami, FL. Dr. Kantor was the chief resident in both programs. During her training, she was involved in research and published numerous articles on the topics of GI and has presented nationally.
