Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and pain medicine, Ibrahim Oyowe, MD, is a fellowship-trained interventional spine and pain medicine physician with the orthopedic surgery team at Valdosta Orthopedic Associates in Valdosta, Georgia. Dr. Oyowe specializes in diagnoses and non-surgical treatments for pain problems affecting the spine, muscles, nerves, joints, and bones. He also performs electrodiagnostic procedures (nerve conduction studies and EMGs).
He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, in 2008. He earned his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, in 2012.
After an internal medicine internship at the University of Chicago Medical Center, Dr. Oyowe went on to attend Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia to complete his residency in physiatry. He then pursued a fellowship in spine, sports, and musculoskeletal medicine at the Penn Spine Center in Philadelphia.
Dr. Oyowe has published works focusing on the non-operative management of cervical disc herniations, amongst other subjects.
Karl Bodendorfer, MD, is an experienced and highly skilled ophthalmologist serving patients of all ages at Columbia Eye Associates & Family Focus Eye Care in Lake City, Live Oak, and Gainesville, Florida. As the founder of Columbia Eye Associates, Dr. Bodendorfer leads a compassionate team of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and technicians to provide the best eye care possible. The team specializes in glasses and contact lens prescriptions, pediatric eye care, medical aesthetics, and treatment for cataracts, diabetes-related vision issues, strabismus, and glaucoma.
Dr. Bodendorfer completed his bachelor’s degree at Pennsylvania State University. He continued his studies at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Bodendorfer then completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Upon completion of his training at the University of Florida in 2000, Dr. Bodendorfer was hired to be its first comprehensive ophthalmologist. He also ran ophthalmology residency programs at the Lake City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and University of Florida Shands Hospital. From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Bodendorfer taught a second-year course in ophthalmology at the University of Florida medical school.
In 2007, Dr. Bodendorfer established Columbia Eye Associates and transitioned to a full-time medical practice. He remains affiliated with the University of Florida and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and Columbia County Medical Society.
In his free time, Dr. Bodendorfer enjoys giving back to his community by working with the March of Dimes and NASA medical support team. The highlight of his philanthropic efforts was a 2007 mission trip to Honduras with the University of Florida to provide eye care to the adults and children there.
